xbox 360 console discontinued

good. development for games can now fully focus on the one.

 

I had three different 360s and had a lot of enjoyment. I would upgrade mine when the new versions come out and give the old one to the kids. After about 3 years I did get the RROD on the last one.

 

Hands down, the 360 Slim was/is the best console MS has ever produced.

I have never had a console with an optical drive that was problem free for more than a year, and mine has been going STRONG without a hitch for the better part of 5 years.

Been looking to land an R2-D2 themed Slim for ages, hope I find one on the dirty dirt cheap soon.

Yeah, something about Oblivion. I do have a few games I liked better overall. But Oblivion was so good. and I put hundreds of hours into it. My wife even played over a hundred and she is not really a gamer at all.

I remember getting my first NES, then buying my SNES, and on. But the 360 will just always be a special console. Maybe even my favorite. Great games and then the social aspect. Playing Halo, Gears, Mass Effect. And playing those online matches with
friends and family. Gears horde was awesome for that with the wife. MS did so many great things with the 360.

Obviously we all knew this was coming. But I just wish we could have gotten a cheap sale like I hit way back. I remember when the older arcade models where being sold cheap and I picked 2 up during the holidays for $100. Was hoping to see that again 1
more time this holiday to pick one or two up. Maybe it is possible but I doubt it now.

 

Well, I suppose they can't be producing to many different consoles at the same time. They have to make room for the upgraded X1 in the not to distant future ;-)

Even after 4 defects I still loved the 360, I didn't have a stable console until the Jasper. The game library was much better as well, all of those Jrpg's and shoot em ups. I still have my full library including really early games like Bully Scholarship
edition and Gun. MS really did get it right with the 360, it's not my favorite console but it's certainly my favorite ms console.

 

I loved the 360, but it's not my favorite console of all time. The first time I played Gears of war I was blown away.

 

I loved my 360 but my fav console I still play today is my Dreamcast

Lol. Nice. Not the same game, though definitely bought a new T.V. because captions/instructions couldn't be read on the old C.R.T..

 

Xbox 360 is a better media streamer than Xbox One. Microsoft should make a super-slim without a drive as a set top box.

First game I played on 360 was "Gun", and I thought those graphics were amazing. Next game I played was Oblivion, and I was blown away all over again.

 

I might pick up a new one just to have a spare. My old one is the Arcade "fat" model that replaced an original release RROD.

Is the 360 S the newest version? Is the S version what you guys would recommend, or is there a better version? I know at one point there were 360's with different chip sets and what not, but I forgot what was what and that was back on the old fat models
anyway. So if anybody can recommend the "best" hardware version of the 360 I'd appreciate it.

 

Enjoyed Gun but took a while to play on on the 360 as I had already played it on the original xbox.
