XBOX 360 connects to network but not internet

I have an Xbox 360 that connects to my network router/modem just fine but does not make it out to the internet. All other devices except XBox work just fine. My router is set to "Allow-all." I have an XFinity router and when I called them for support they
said it was a Microsoft issue.

I thought about directly connecting from XBox to the router/modem but that seems pointless because the XBox is connecting to the router/modem, just not the internet.

I also thought about doing a factory restore on the router/modem but again, that seems pointless because all other devices are working just fine.

I went through the troubleshooting checklist on the Xbox live site and none of the steps resolved the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

my xbox 360 wont conect to the internet, it can connect to the network but not the internet, it has before but not recently.

I cannot connect to the internet on my Xbox 360, and when I login on the computer, everything is fine. This is my problem. My Xbox 360 will connect to my network but will not gail internet access.

I'm having the same problem - Only since Christmas, though. I've followed every single guide there is on the support website and it's getting me nowhere. Tried port forwarding, allowing my console's specific MAC Address and a number of other tricks. Still,
not a bit of progress. It connected to the internet one time, but it didn't complete the action by connecting to xbox live. Are the live servers still being attacked?

 

I too am having the same problem. Really surprised that XBOX/Microsoft are not replying or helping out. This is not good for brand reputation.

 

So you guys have Comcast... do you guys happen to have the Technicolor TC8503C? If not tell me the name of your modem/gateway.

 

I have a CGN3ROG Router from Hitron Technologies.

 

My console is having the same problem. It says internet failed, but is connected to network. I have done every troubleshoot that was suggested.

 

I still get the same message when i do a test, but i have just signed in and am playing ghosts. It seems to be working, but what caused it?

 

Mine wouldn't connect either but all I did once it said it failed to connect was try to sign in my profile and it worked. Guessing it's just a glitch

Yes, that is exactly the modem/router I have. What should I do? Microsoft had me try the whole port fowarding thing but it didn't work. I just ordered a 100 foot Ethernet cable to do a direct plug in so I'm hoping that will work. Do you have another solution?

Unfortunately, that will not work either. It won't matter if you're connected through Wi-Fi or Ethernet because you're still going to experience slow or disconnecting issues. This has been happening to the Technicolor TC8305C from Xfinity/Comcast. Comcast
issued an update on 10-22-14 for the Gateway that caused Firmware issues. That's why some of you are either experiencing slow or bad connection. And for a lot or basically everyone is facing disconnecting issues due to this Gateway.

Since this a Firmware issue for the device, Xbox can't do anything about it. It's up to Comcast to do something.

Since it's been more than 2 months now, it probably won't EVER be fixed. Or it will take a longer time to fix it.

SO THE SOLUTION:

Go to the nearest Comcast store and ask for a DIFFERENT MODEL GATEWAY. (FREE)

Try to get the Cisco DPC3939 Gateway (also known as an XB3 Wireless Gateway) . IT HAS NO ISSUES AT ALL SO FAR (RECOMMENDED)

Try to get the Arris TG862G or the TG852G. (I've heard this Gateway has similar issues as well but can be fixed with a simple Firmware update.) But try to get the Cisco one first!

OTHER SOLUTION: ($$$) (Also Recommended)

Buy your own Gateway or Modem so you don't receive updates from Comcast so it won't screw up your personal device. It will be your own and you don't have to pay monthly fees.

 

A temporary solution:

Either try these settings (Wi-Fi) I've had success staying connected with these settings.

802.11 b/g/n/

Security Mode: WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP-AES) (the recommended setting)

Channel selection: Manuel

Channel :11

Custom security

(Let me know if it works)

OR....

ENABLE DMZ ON YOUR GATEWAY. (For some this has worked)
