XBOX 360 connects to internet, One does not

Hi,

I have a 360 that connects to my modem no problem, when I connect the XBOX one to the modem, I get the DHCP error.

What is the problem do you think?

Xbox 360 Internet connectivity Problem

I am trying to connect my xbox 360 to xbox live. Before I install the new update, the xbox internet works fine. But, after the update my xbox either does not connect to the internet or it says that the xbox 360 will connect to the internet but, xbox live
won't connect properly or something like that. I can only connect to the internet by using my laptop to share the connection. So does anyone have any idea to fix this? Thanks.

Consoles vs inernet

So my question comes down to one topic, internet connection.I live in a rural area so my internet connection is a Verizion MiFi 3g hotspot, because that is all that is offered here. I currently have a PS3 and 360. I am looking to get a Xbox One but want to make sure I am utilizing all that it has to offer. Right now the PS3 is horrible on Internet issues. Downloads take forever, if they download at all, same with system updates. The 360, however is amazing. Downloads and system updates are quick and I've had no trouble downloading anything. I would like to know how the Xbox One is with 3g internet connectivity or does it require faster internet, that is not available to me

I have the same problem, started after the last xbox one update that changed to the new menu style. This is with a wired connection? Usually I have to unplug the Ethernet cable and plug it back in (I do mine on the router since its easier to get to).

The problem only seems to happen when I turn the xbox off and back on again (in quick start not full shutdown). I'm wondering if the router senses the port is not being used but when the xbox turns on doesn't sense the signal being needed (green lights by
Ethernet port turn off when xbox is off, stay off when I turn the xbox back on, and only light up again after I unplug and plug back in).

I tried a DHCP reservation and a factory reset on the modem. A laptop I borrowed has no problems with any of the ports on my router.

My last resort is going to be a factory reset on the xbox one, hopefully something didn't go right in the last update and this will fix it.

Just tried to be specific to give you some ideas or hopefully someone else can chime in.

I can't, it says that it's not connected to the internet. My xbox one is connected to the internet but when I try to play a 360 game on the xbox one it says that it can't connect to the internet.

So um... that definitely seems to me like they just said it doesn't require an internet connection... but it does...

Looking forward to some more clarification on this, but it's not looking so good...

ok, say i buy a used xbox 360. i can get a free/paid avatar prop with it and transfer it to my xbox one, right? how would i do this? i assume the xbox 360 would have to be connected to the internet which means i'd have to disconnect my xbox one from the
internet and connect the 360 to the 'net. after i get the prop onto the 360 how do i get it onto the xbox one? also, during transfer do the 360 and xbox one both need to be connected to the 'net or just one or the other? not sure if i'd be able to have 2 consoles
connected to the internet at the same time.
