    Xbox 360 - connection to Xbox Live issue


    I have unearthed my old Xbox 360 in the hopes of transferring my old Borderlands 2 characters to Xbox One. I have been unable connect the Xbox Live servers.

    Originally I couldn't log into Xbox Live because I needed an update, and I couldn't get the update because couldn't log into Xbox Live. (classic catch-22, well played Microsoft) I was able to download the update to a USB drive and install the update manually,
    so are good there.

    Now it simply says that it cannot connect to the Xbox Live server. I have run the network check, and the system could get to the internet, but says the Live server is unavailable. The website assures me that all services ARE available. The recommended solutions
    are to: 1. Reset the router (which I have attempted a few times over the past few days) or, 2. Adjust the router settings to allow connections to Xbox Live (But I have the Xbox One on the same router and it connects to Live without issue).

    I can usually troubleshoot network and hardware issues just fine, but this one has me completely stumped. I would REALLY appreciate any help that people could offer.

    You might have better luck in 02 - Connecting to Xbox Live on Xbox 360 they deal with First time connecting to Live, connection issues, NAT errors and more.

    Hello, your connection issues are not do to Microsoft discontinuing Xbox Live service for the Xbox 360.
