Xbox 360 Can't Find ANY files on my PC

Hello I have my xbox and PC on the same WIFI and they connect fine in the test but my Xbox won't see or find any files on my PC to use for Music or Video. My Media player is fully updated and Library Refreashed.

1. This is the first game I have purchased for XBOX on Windows, so I do not have anything to test it on. I will say that all other major gaming platforms still work.

2. My computer is wired directly to the router.

If you're using a 360, you need to be using Media Center, not Media Player.

Windows Media Player is quite capable of streaming to the 360. I've used it on XP, Vista, 7, and 8.1 to do the job.

The OP needs to say what operating system he is running though in order to get the right advice. What you need to do is different on each OS.

If you're using a 360, you need to be using Media Center, not Media Player.

OK so i am plugging an 8 G USB into my Xbox 360 s.

Formatted as FAT32 on my Win 7 PC.

Adding the music in a folder or not in a folder.

When attempting to access the music to play it the Xbox cannot find any music files.

The Xbox (and other media devices) don't access your media files directly. Instead they use something called DLNA, which requires your PC to have indexed your media library.

Then only the index is read by the Xbox (or other media players), and according to that index, you choose the files to play.

If you moved files around, or the index became corrupted, the Xbox can't find the media files anymore.

Please start the Windows Media player on your PC, and check that in that Media Player library, your media files are shown and are working correctly.

If the Media Player can't locate your media, the Xbox 360 can't get to the media as well.

to clarify, pc and Xbox 360 are connected (I can see my pc in the music player menu, but xbox can't find any songs on there (yes I have a fully working media library in wmp12). The error code I'm now getting is new to me:

"Statuscode: 04-80070103"
