Xbox 360 'Can't Download' - fails after 2%

Hi,

I am trying to download Halo 3 on XBOX 360 from the online store.

I have purchased the game but the download reaches 2% and then fails.

I have tried

1. deleting the game and cache and trying again.

2. formatting the hard drive and trying again.

3. downloading to external storage.

4. rolling back the latest xbox update and trying again.

The store says there are no refunds but I can't even access the game so I've just paid $30 for nothing.

Can anyone help with the download or refund?

Usually in cases like this its due to region mismatch which includes language so if you choose english but in russia france or germany it wont work

Also choosing from.the us website which is default isnt a good idea

Change ro your physical region and make sure EVERYTHING matches

Should.be noted if you dont live in an xbox live region you dont have a choice it wont work

If you use a vpn or a google dns dont.

Just use your native dns server

Account region and actual region and console region MUST match for xbox 360 games

If this isnt possible or you dont live in an xbox live region

Goto https://accounts.microsoft.com and find the transaction and ask for a refund via the links there

I've got a 360.

I downloaded Halo 1 a few weeks ago and that worked fine. I havent changed any settings since then.

I would go to my Microsoft account and ask for a refun but there is no option to do that for these games. They state it is strictly no refunds.

If you have an Xbox 360 with a 4GB Memory unit, what usually happens is that 4GB MU Fails losing the system update. And it tries to download the update but can't because the MU does not work any longer.

There hasn't been an update for the 360 in quite some time and its not an update that was pushed out to kill your Xbox. The 360 console with the 4GB MU will just fail after a period of time.

Finally back online with the 360. Tried about 21682837649 times across 3 different 360s. Then today after 2 fails. It actually downloaded.

I wonder if MS will be bold enough to tell us why this happened.

Often in the older 360 consoles with the built in memory unit, this issue will occur.

When the memory unit fails, the Xbox sees that there's an update available since it can't see the update that was on the storage device. When the Xbox tries to download/install the update, the update can't install because of the failed storage device.

Does your Xbox 360 have the memory unit and/or the hard drive?
