Xbox 360 Beta Program- Can't download games, demos, apps, add-ons, etc, on my usb flash ...

I can't do a license transfer to a different profile, or i'll lose access to the game, since the Xbox 360 i'm using now isn't the one i originally downloaded the game with. I'm thinking of putting my profile on an USB flash drive, removing the HDD and downloading
the game onto it (USB flash drive) to see if that works.

It can be done.

You'll need an Xbox 360 with either a hard drive or the 4GB internal storage.

Go to the Xbox marketplace and choose a demo to download - it doesn't matter what you choose. Next, add your GTV to the queue as well.
Note: You do not need to finish downloading the demo.

Go back to the download queue screen. There should be two items in there. Select the queued GTA V download, change the storage device to the USB Flash drive and
cancel the demo download.

If you"ve done it right, GTV will now be downloading directly to the Flash drive.

Yes. This is a problem that can occur from time to time. Generally, the issue is caused by a hardware fault with the storage device. Sometimes the problem appears after a download glitch, but this almost never happens because the data is verified when
downloading.

The reason why the system says 'disc read error', even when installed on a USB drive - or traditional Xbox 360 a hard drive is because the Xbox 360 Operating System is quite basic and has never been programmed/updated to record specific read errors from anything
other than a DVD. This does not mean there is no read error, there is, otherwise the game would be still be working.

Generally, deleting and re-downloading a game with this issue won't help as the game will occupy the same location on the storage device again, and will produce the same issue. The only option you have is to delete the game, go to the marketplace and add a
demo. When the demo has downloaded, re-download your game again. This will insure that the game will occupy a different location on the hard drive.

If it's a USB device, you'll need to replace it. USB Flash storage has no moving parts and stores data in a completely different way. Even USB Flash storage doesn't last forever.

If you'd like to use your USB Flash Drive to put videos onto it to view them on the console then you do not format the flash drive at all on the console. You will need to plug the USB Flash Drive into your PC, make sure it's formatted for FAT 32 and then just
drag and drop the files into a folder. You then unplug the flash drive and go to the Xbox 360, if these files that you've put on the flash drive are playable they will appear when you go to the Dashboard > TV & Movies > My Video Apps > System Video Player
> Select the Portable Device.

You only format/customize the USB Flash Drive on the console if you intend to use the USB Flash Drive for storing Xbox 360 games, downloadable content, and game saves, etc.
