    Xbox 360 backwards compatibility update not coming up


    When I try putting an original Xbox game in my 360, it keeps saying it's not supported and it won't take me to the update. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Backwards compatibility

    I would really love to see the Gears of war 2 and 3 coming to the Xbox one next update for the 360 game becoming Backwards compatibility due to the remastered version coming to the xbox not being the other Gears 2 and 3.

    I like how Microsoft is scaring people into their "official HDDs".

    If the game is Backwards Compatible, then it should come up--provided you're signed into Xbox Live, and you don't have a cheap counterfeit HDD. To find if the game is backwards compatible, look here:

    en.wikipedia.org/.../List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

    Microsoft's list is broken. So use that list instead. This list will also tell you any issues that the game may have.

    update Original Xbox games to play

    They haven't updated the backward compatibility of the 360 in a long time. I don't think they will end up doing it as even the new xbox one will not have backward compatibility.

    Unfortunately no more 360 games will become backwards compatible anymore as Microsoft is starting to focus on making Xbox One games backwards compatible for Project Scarlett. Since not all 360 games became backwards compatible, it is unlikely they will
    come back to it later on.

    Hi Sid,

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. This may be due to the content not allowed as backward compatible. Also try updating the profile though the Xbox 360 emulator. Launch a backward compatible game, hit the back and start button together(both
    buttons, under the Xbox logo button). This pulls up the Xbox 360 emulator. Go to download profile and enter your credentials, you will still be able to enter it even if the profile shows there.
