    Xbox 360 and Xbox Original Titles Not Launching on Xbox Series X


    Every time I attempt to launch Xbox 360 and Original titles on my Series X, it will say the following:

    “Please try again

    Sorry, that didn’t work for some reason. (0x80070002)”

    I have already cleared both the local Xbox 360 storage and even local saved games to no avail. I also hard reset my console and unplugged it for more than 15 seconds with no positive results. Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated as
    I am really loving this console.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately backwards compatibility has ended for original and Xbox 360 titles. There will be no more BC titles for Xbox One or the Series X|S.

    Hello, SerratedGem5935. I’m Arturo, and I’ll be glad to assist with your inquiry today.

    There are two types of storage drives available for Xbox Series X|S consoles.

    The first one is the expansion card, Seagate and WD. This card has a dedicated slot on the console and allows you to store and play Xbox Series X|S titles, and also Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles.

    The second option is getting an external USB drive.
    However, with this option, you can store and play Xbox One, 360 and original Xbox titles, but for Xbox Series X|S games you can only store them and not play.

    Backwards compatibility only going forward on series s/x?

    Hi,

    Original Xbox and Xbox 360 BC for both Xbox One and Series X|S consoles has been suspended. There are no current plans to release any more older titles to these platforms.

    The Series X|S consoles are fully BC with all Xbox One games (with the exception of Kinect titles) and all of the original Xbox and 360 tiles that were made BC for Xbox One. That's over 2,000 games.

    The BC team are currently working on FPS boost for the Series X|S consoles. FPS boost takes certain Xbox One games that were locked at 30 or 60 fps and upping the frame rate to 60 fps (for 30 fps titles) and up to 120 fps for 60 fps games.

    I have to say for the 360 the game/games of the generation is Gears of War series, with a close second going to Bioshock. The halo series (imo) belongs to last gen as it was the title that helped with launch the original xbox and such.

    And, if it were not backwards compatible, you might have to wait until the release of Xbox Series X, as they have said they have stopped working on bringing Backwards Compatible titles to Xbox One until the Series X launch to get Backwards Compatibility
    up and running on the Series X. Form there, I imagine they will move back to bringing titles to both Series X and Xbox One for a few more years.
