how come i hear this about xbox one and ps4 playing cross-platform aaaand xbox360 and xbox one cant play together online?? should hardware not matter? like a mac playing maplestory with another guy using a PC. xbox people, i feel like you ditched us 360
people for the new girl, xbox one. i feel like you done us dirty. i would like to see these changes coming to 360. 1.) cross-platform play with xbox one on backward compatible games 2.) maybe more games in the arcade store that xbox one and 360 can play together
(preferably new)... i gotta believe there's still a market out there for the 360

Battlefield 4 does not support cross-platform play between Xbox 360 and Xbox One players. You'll find that many, if not all multiplayer games, follow suit to this trend.

The main reasoning behind no cross-platform play is due to hardware differences being used as an advantage against players with weaker hardware. (better FPS and draw distance on Xbox One vs Xbox 360 with toned-down graphics)

If you're playing a backwards compatible game on the One, you can play with members on the 360. That feature has been available since backwards compatibility became available. As far as cross platform in other games, it would be possible. You can play cross
platform in World of Tanks. So it's really more up to the publishers too.
