Xbox 360 and PC setup

I have attempted to set up Windows Media Center with my Xbox 360 with dismal failure. I have given up on it. So on the Xbox, I open the System Player and access my video directory on the PC and play videos that way. Not really an issue. Well, it wasn't an
issue. My problem is very odd and I can find no answer because everybody points me to setting up Windows Media Center. Please don't do that.

Problem: When my PC is accessed, I'm shown several drives beside my shared video directory. These drives (which are NOT shared) have movies that don't exist on any of my hard drives. Not for a long, long time anyway. They were deleted, and yes, I deleted
them from the recycle bin. We're talking files deleted about a year ago. And it's not all movies that were deleted, just a few. It's odd. It's frustrating.

Any ideas on why this behavior is happening? My desire is for the Xbox to just show stuff I've put in the My Videos shared directory.

360 pc setup... all I use are my phone and a kindle. How do I configure my setup?

Yes, as far as I know a wired xbox 360 controller should work on a PC, as long as the correct drivers are installed

I've had this happen to me before, you need to reset your Windows Media library. Link on how to below:

Note: This won't delete any media, just the library which points to it. You may have to set up your library's pointers to different drives/folders afterward but that's pretty quick and painless.
