Xbox 360 adapter isn't powering my Kinect

Hi,

Do you have the software installed so the computer will recognize the device? Specifically

Kinect for Windows Runtime file?

I have the Xbox One X and have to use the adapter with the Kinect. I've also tried a second Kinect and second adapter (I have a Kinect for Windows also) and have the same issue. So then you think it's my console? Worked fine before the update, my money
still on the update. Understand if I unplug the USB cable from the Xbox and plug it back in, the Kinect comes on fine. So seems like the Xbox isn't seeing the Kinect on power up or there is a problem with that port.

Using that adapter, you can connect an Xbox One kinect to the Xbox One S or Xbox One X, though please note that it does require it to be plugged into the USB port closest to the power cord on the back of the Xbox One; not sure why that's a requirement, but
that's what the documentation says.

Please also note that this is only for the Xbox One kinect, and the Xbox 360 Kinect will not be compatible with the Xbox One at all, regardless of adapter. Just want to make abundantly clear, since you mentioned the 360 and it's Kinect.

Now, I'm also not sure if there is a region consideration if you're buying it from a webiste that is out of your region. I'm not sure if that will be cross compatible, particularly since the Xbox One Adapter needs it's own Power Supply. The Kinect plugs
into an adapter, that adapter has a cable that goes to the Xbox One, and another cable that connects to a power brick, and then the outlet, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take that into consideration if your country/region uses different voltage and power options
than your own region.

does the console still make the ringing sound when you completely disconnect the Kinect? If not, it could be a power issue causing feedback between the kinect and the headset. If it still is ringing in the headset with the Kinect unplugged it could be
a different issue altogether. Can you give us a little more info to go on?

It isn't the xbox one s. I mention about the kinect adapter. It's the adapter it self.

It may be worth checking the USB cable isn't damaged, if you're using the Kinect power adapter I'd also check that too. The Kinect is one of those things that either works or it doesn't in most cases.
