Xbox 360 accounts not on gold after purchasing Xbox One Live Gold

I recently purchased an Xbox one and assumed that because my family members can share the membership on the One that they would also share it on the 360, however this does not seem to be the case. Do I need to purchase individual subscriptions for each member
on the 360 even though they share it on the One.

if so, will this mess up the One sharing?

Microsoft just ended the Family Plan for good

Microsoft sent this announcement via e-mail to all Family Plan members. This is terrible for people who have more than one console. Also note (in bold) that this answers the questions about the Gold Live sharing on multiple consoles. So if you plan to throw out your 360's and game library and have you family glued to one Xbox One then you are good. Once you go that friends house your family cannot play in Live on either console unless you have an additional sub. Terrible.

As a valued Xbox Live Gold member, we'd like to thank you and your family for being part of the Gold community.

We continually evaluate our offerings and are always working to provide services that best meet the needs of our customers.
Starting August 27, 2013, we will be converting each activated account on your Gold Family Pack to an individual Xbox Live Gold membership to prepare for new upcoming features on Xbox Live Gold. Rest assured, each individual membership will work on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Through the new Home Gold feature on Xbox One, a single Xbox Live Gold membership will allow anyone in your home to enjoy many Gold features like multiplayer, access to Gold entertainment apps, and more on your Xbox One.*
As a bonus, we will give each converted individual Xbox Live Gold membership from your Gold Family Pack an extra 3 months of Gold (in addition to the time remaining on your membership term).**

After your memberships convert, the only Gold Family Pack features that will no longer be available are activity monitoring reports and Microsoft Points allowances. Gold on 360 and One

Hi all,

So the situation is this. My eldest had a 360 in his bedroom and younger two have one downstairs. Eldest has gold against his profile and one of my other lad has gold on his profile downstairs.

I'm buying Xbox one for Christmas to replace the 360 downstairs. I will put this against my profile and I've read that all profiles on the One can use the gold access. So far so good.

I've also read that this same live account running on the One can be used on another 360. So My question is, can my eldest son use my Xbox live gold on his 360 but against his gamer profile? I'm guessing not and to access live gold on his own profile he''ll need his own gold account?

Probably not described it very well but basically can we have just one gold account between a One and a 360 where only my eldest will use the360 with his own gamer profile.

Yes,you would need to buy separate memberships for the 360 as it doesn't have the gold sharing feature.

It shouldn't make any difference to xbox one sharing.

Xbox Live gold sharing is not a feature on Xbox 360. So if you want Xbox Live gold on both accounts on your xbox 360 console you would need to purchase a subscription for both accounts.

Some clarification:

I purchased an Xbox Live Gold 24 Month Subscription Card and activated it on my Xbox One. The account I activated it on is the same account I am attempting to use to play multiplayer on my Xbox 360. Whilst Gold works perfectly on my Xbox One for all profiles
present on that device; my Xbox 360 does not even recognise that I have a Gold subscription on my account. Rather, it informs me that I need to purchase Gold to play online.

I was under the impression that if you purchased a Gold subscription it would allow you to play online on that account across both Xbox 360 and Xbox One devices. Perhaps I am wrong about this.

Any insight will be appreciated.

There seems to be no solution to this problem if a child account is the one with Xbox Live Gold and you don't have an Xbox 360.

The parent account does not have the ability to get the Xbox Live Gold game for free.

The child account gets the message "Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com".

That error is because you are a child account

To make the purchase you must use an xbox 360.

Or.have a parental account with actual gold not home gold make the purchase

Xbox 360 markrtplace is different from xbox one child accounts must makefile purchase on the 360 or have a parental account make the purchase

Xbox one unrestricted setting is incompatible with xbox 360
