Xbox 360 account not carrying to xbox one

Iv been playing xbox 360 games for years on a non live account, but when more and more games I had started appearing on xbox backwards compatability I wanted to carry my saves over so I wouldn't need to restart to play on xbox one. After setting up a silver
account on the 360 I went over to the one to try to sign in but when I tried doing that I was given a brand new account on xbox one. Could somebody please help me get my account over to the xbox one and get rid of this new one.

To be a bit more specific how do i make my current gamertag an xbox live gamertag?

Note: I have an account on the xbox one but want to carry over my gamertag from the 360 to the one.

 

Do achievements carry over from X360 for games on both X360 & X1?

I played a game on the Xbox 360 and got the full 1000, that game is also out on the Xbox One, do the achievements carry over, or do I need to do it all over again on the Xbox One, it is the same gamertag?

I presume they are carried over but just want to make sure

 

Importing your gamertag to the Xbox One is an easy step. During the set up of your Xbox One console, you will come to a portion where you must sign into Xbox Live using your Microsoft account e-mail address. Important: This must absolutely be the same e-mail
attached to your gamertag.

I recommend you to go onto your PC and signing into your account as well, as then you can attach your cell phone number to your account for additional security and a new option of recovering your account in case of an emergency.

After entering the e-mail address, you must enter the password for your Microsoft account. Important: It must be exactly the same password of your xbox live account. This is another good reason to attach your phone to your Microsoft account, as you can more
easily reset your password in the future. It is advised to change your password every 3 months. After you've entered the e-mail address and password, your Xbox Live account will automatically link up to your Xbox One.

i'v already set up an account on xbox 360 and even though it's set to the same account with the one i'm trying to use on xbox one (and the account i'm using on this website) it has given me this account with a completely different name and no save data.
I need help to get rid of this account and assign the one i used to have to the xbox one (and this site)

 

I suggest you to contact xbox live support regarding this account issue for they can check your account in detail from the database. Go to this link:

And select "My account" section.

With regards to your primary account that you set up on your xbox 360 - did you ever use it online? Sign up to xbox LIVE? Or did you just simply keep it as an offline account?

If it has never been signed up to xbox LIVE before then your account information such as your account ID/email address would not be attached to that account. It's never been registered with LIVE basically. As the email has never been registered it is not
assigned to your account and therefore when you attempted to sign in with your account information the LIVE is seeing this data for the first time to which it creates a new account.

In order to resolve this issue I would suggest going back to the account on your xbox 360 and signing it up to the LIVE service. If you wish to use your original email address for that account you will now need to free the email address from this new account
which has been created. For help doing that click

Once the email address is free you can use it for your primary account. After you have signed the account up to LIVE you can then recover it to your new xbox one.

Unfortunately from reading over
this support page it appears you may not be able to use your xbox 360 save data - it wont transfer when you recover your account that is. However you may be able to use an external hard drive to store all of your saved data on but I can't really help with
this I have no knowledge of how or if it will work.

 

I set up the account for a silver one shortly before trying to set it up to the xbox one also i can still connect to live on that account.

 

Ok. Sign into your Silver account on your xbox 360 then go to account management and look at what email address is linked to it. This is the email you need to use when you attempt to recover it to the xbox one.

The xbox LIVE service does not allow two separate gamertags to the same email address for logging in. If this has actually happened to you then you will need to contact xbox customer service or assign a new email address to either one of the profiles.

 

Okay from what I can tell the 360 account is using the same email as the xbox one, when I tried logging in it prompted me to do an email and password sign in working with the same email iv signed into the One also it was using in older password I'd recently
switched from if that's of any importance. If you think it would work I'd like to untie my xbox one account from my email, but I can't figure out where it is in the options if anyone wouldn't mind telling that's be appreciated

I would really recommend trying to contact chat support. This way, they could pull up your gamertag that you are using on your 360. Then they just need to do a verification and they will be able to confirm the right email assigned to your gamertag.
