    So i recently booted up my old Xbox360 and i wanted to sign in with my new Xbox live account. So i went to Download profile, I entered my e-mail and password, which i know are correct, this showed up:

    Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you're using to sign in. Go to https://account.live.com to fix the problem.

    801540A9

    I don't have two-step verification.

    Please help.

    Hi Mr0cznyKisiel,

    Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. Sounds as if you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting so far to attempt to get your profile signed in/downloaded to your 360 console but are still having an issue. This may sound a bit strange, but
    does your password for your profile happened to contain 16+ characters? If so, then this may be the problem. For some reason, you must have no more than 15 characters in your password for it to be recognized on an Xbox 360.

    Try
    changing/updating your password for your profile
    once more and ensure that it has no more than 15 characters, then attempt to download the profile again.

    I hope that this helps a bit more and please let us know if this helps out.

    • If this is a new account, where did you originally create it?
    • Since you mention you do not have two-step verification on your account, are you able to sign into the

      Xbox
      or
      Microsoft
      website?
    • Is you account a child in a Microsoft family? If so, you might want to take a look at this

      article
      for completing any pending actions on your account

    Please give these a go and let us know the results!
    I checked, and i am 100% sure that:

    I can sign in on Xbox and Microsoft websites

    And my account is not a child in a Microsoft family

    I am not 100% sure when i created it but id say it was about a year ago

    Even without two-step verification, you should still be able to create an
    App Password following the steps
    . That would at least be a troubleshooting step to identify if it's an issue with your profile, or the authentication service for your account, which the later would likely
    require Offical Support assitance.

    I can't say I'm certain that it will let you add an App Password without 2FA, but I think it's worth a shot to see if it'll let you log in?

    Might also just want to double check, to cross eyes and dot tees, that the device isn't banned?

    Thanks for keeping us updated. The Xbox 360 console can hold as many profiles as your storage space allows, so that wouldn't be the issue here. After reading up on all the steps you have tried, I have a few things to recommend. First thing I would like for
    you to do is undo the
    app password
    and
    2-step verification
    .

    1. If you have a different Xbox live profile, try downloading it to the 360. This can help us verify that your console can, in fact, download profiles. If you do not have one to download, create one. You can make one from the Console or from
    Xbox.com. You could see this as a dummy account only used for troubleshooting.

    If your console downloads this profile, try downloading yours right after.

    2. Try downloading your profile on a different network. A friend or family members home network would be ideal, but a hotspot can work if that is all we have to work with.

    3.
    Contact Xbox support
    . After they verify your account, they can look into any possible account issues over the phone.
