Xbox 360 60gb harddrive Freezing and Destroying Discs

Well in the past 4 years my Xbox 360 orginal series has been sitting on my dresser, on a flat surface with nothing interfering it besides my cat thinking it is a chair. The xbox in the past week has destroyed three to four of my Xbox games, all worth about
$60 so if you do the math its around $240. I do want to spend money to buy some new xbox that has all the bells and whistles. Nor do i need a Iphone 700dxg series Ultimate. I want a system that works, and i am more than unsatisfied with Xbox and Microsoft
companies for expecting me to buy a system if i cant fix the issue, because they do not support old system repairs unless you want to offer your right arm.

The Issue is that every time i put a disc into the tray, it cuts a little ring around it, it eventually took me about 2 discs to realize that it did that, and so i tried fixing it by cleaning the disc tray with compressed air and then putting in a blank DVD-RW
that i just had laying around to test it, since those are relatively cheap, i decided why not. Well the blank disc did not get scratched whatsoever, and i tried doing a couple things to test it. Eventually i put in a xbox disc to test if it would actually
play the disc and it scratched the living crap out of it. Also if it just so happens to not scratch the disc, then the game freezes within 10 mins of playing it, regardless of what game it is. I have also had the thought on whether i inserted the disc right,
so i tried another wave of Blank discs, and the end result is that if i put it in lightly, the disc would scratch immediately, and then it is unable to read. And if i just placed it in there, the game would 50/50 scratch it after 10 mins.

Is this considered an official HDD?

I bought and installed a 60GB harddrive into my xbox 360 slim. It is an official harddrive but my question is will this run older games on it?

@ Dead1yDipStick I am sorry but there is no 120gb harddrive for the 4gb xbox 360 slim, I have the console and the only harddrives you can use in them is the 250gb or 320gb harddrives that are made for the xbox 360 slim console. I have also been on that site
and the harddrives on there are not official ones as microsoft never made a 60gb or 120gb harddrive for the xbox 360 slim.

 

Unfortunately, the console damages discs when it is moved with a disc inside. Discs are damaged when the console is moved with them inside.

Since it's an old console that is out of warranty, servicing it would indeed require a fee. Most companies do this with out of warranty products so there is nothing really new there or anything that should be upsetting.

In the future, I recommend you leave the console completely still while it has a disc inside of the tray.
