Xbox 360 4GB Slim Backwards Compatability

So, I was an idiot recently and purchased an Xbox Original game off of the Xbox live Marketplace, but I am unable to play it due to the fact that I don't have an official Xbox 360 HDD. I DID buy a 250GB HDD a while back off of Amazon for about $50, but it
turns out that it was a third party HDD and does not have the proper emulation software required to play Xbox Originals. Oh well...

So tell me, if I go and shell out an extra $99 buck to get an official Xbox 360 Slim 250GB HDD, will I without a doubt be able to play the Xbox Originals on my console?

By the way, I have an Xbox 360 4GB Slim.

Oh and where can I purchase a true Xbox 360 Slim HDD that has the proper emulation software built into it? Walmart? GameStop?

So long as you have an official Xbox 360 Slim HD the emulators will install automatically for games listed in the backwards compatability list

Does anyone know where i can get an Official Xbox 360 250GB hdd drive for my xbox 360 4gb slim? i want to play Halo CE & Starwars Battlefront two again on backward compatibility on the xbox 360 4gb slim

Yes, without a doubt with an official MS Hard drive. WalMart, Gamestop, Target & BestBuy are all good sources for official Microsoft products. Avoid Amazon/Ebay for the time being so you don't get the wrong type, unless it's from a reputable dealer. Remember
you'll need the hard drive and the latest update to play any of the 478 original games that are backward compatible. Good luck and take it easy

By "latest update" do you mean the mandatory system update that is required to go online? I already have Xbox gold, therefore I should already have the update, right? And is there some catch to playing Xbox Originals like needing to get an update for those
games in particular? One more thing, Once I have those updates, will I need to remain online to play the games, or is it like Xbox 360 games where you just need to have the latest update in order to play the games without problems.

The last update that included anything for backwards compatibility was back in 2009. So every console should be up to date as far as that is concerned. I don't believe you have to remain online in order to play, but I'm not sure on that.

If you have a 4GB slim then the game won't play because the 4GB slim does not have a hard drive.If this is the case you would need to be a 360s compatible hard drive.

Another possibility is that the game you are trying to play is not backwards compatible with the xbox 360. Sometimes the PAL version could be compatible but the NTSC version might not be or vice versa.

The 4gb slim is not backwards compatible with original xbox games. Which slim model does he have? I believe there are 3. The S console, N console and the newest one is the E console.

1st. are the games you want to play on the compatible list? not all the originals are compatible witha 360.

2nd. what model 360 is it? itf it is a 4GB slim then it requires an official microsoft hard drive to run original xbox games. because the 4GB slim only has flash memory, it requires a hard drive.

3rd. is the console fully up to date?
