    Xbox 360 4gb S First Update won't download - Can't connect to XBL


    Hello.

    Today I received a new xbox 360 - 4gb S . I connected it to the internet and it asked me to download the update. However, it cannot download this update, saying it cannot connect to Xbox Live, spitting out an error: 3F45-0000-0300-8007-0570 .

    I followed the instructions to fixing the problem here: http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_360_support/f/9/t/1821911.aspx .

    I tried re-installing the update.

    I have 1.9gb of free space.

    I formatted the hard drive.

    I downloaded the update onto my 32gb USB and restarted multiple times, still wouldn't install and gave me the same error.

    I dedicated 5gb of the USB to the Xbox.

    I am 100% sure it connects to the internet, as it passes that and every time fails on the connection to xbox live, wanting me to update. I am on wireless.

    I've even done the first install thing after formatting, still didnt work.

    I followed the error messages in the above link and none of these have helped.

    So now, I have a doorstop plugged into the power. I can play with the menu, and that's the limits of it all. No apps. No games. Nothing. Just a constant update message which can't be installed. I suppose I should just stick to pc.

    We received a used xbox 360 S from a friend. We can't seem to sign in or create a new profile to play any games. The system update won't take. Clearing the cache won't work, nor deleting profiles etc. It won't connect to xbox live either (even though
    it gets as far as connecting to our wifi). There are some corrupted files (in memory and profile) We can't format either. I'm worried the internal HD is bad. However, ours has the internal memory unit 4GB which can't be removed. If we purchase a new hard
    drive, will it even help?

    If you have an Xbox 360 with a 4GB Memory unit, what usually happens is that 4GB MU Fails losing the system update. And it tries to download the update but can't because the MU does not work any longer.

    There hasn't been an update for the 360 in quite some time and its not an update that was pushed out to kill your Xbox. The 360 console with the 4GB MU will just fail after a period of time.

    What console do you have? An Xbox 360 S 4GB w/ a 250GB add on hard drive, or do you have a Xbox 360 S 250GB version (without the 4GB)?

    If the update isn't working with a simple USB Flash Drive connected to the console (not downloading the update from online and then putting it on the flash drive) then I don't think that a new hard drive would honestly fix the issue.

    Can you please confirm that you physically removed the hard drive inside the console, configured a USB Flash Drive that was at least 2GB or more and then tried to download the update from Xbox LIVE again to see if it went through?
