Xbox 360, 2 Red lights, new fan, still nothin...

My Xbox is one of the older white Xbox 360s. And it's been going good for as long as I've had it. And ever since quite a while back, its been giving me the 2 flashing lights (Apparently a sign of something overheating). So I tried looking up stuff to help,
but most of them were quite idiotic (Towel trick, etc.). And I tried asking a few of my friends to help but still nothing came up. And I just got a new Xbox fan to replace the old one ( The old one actually was one PART of the problem) and it still doesn't
work at all. Just runs for about 5 seconds and then shuts back off. I've tried to see whats wrong with it several times and even gave it enough breathing room, not to mention I haven't used it in a while because I didn't get the new fan until later on. So
it was not heated at all. And even with the fan, it still does it for some reason, and the thing isn't even heated much. So I don't know what else to do, if anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

3 red rings appear when i turn on my xbox than the fan makes a loud noise than it flashes 2 red lights

sorry once you opened it up nobody can help you as talk of self repair is not allowed nobody will be able to fix it (MS would just send it back), and you could face a possible console ban for console tampering down the line buying a new 360 will be your
only option.

ok guys dont get ur panties in a bunch im sure the will fix it soon, and for people say that there fed up with all the problems, u must have not bought the xbox 360 at launch it was riddled with problems the xbox ones problems r nothin compared to that remember
the red lights of death, at least ur console isnt over heating or crashing so be thankful.

If you're talking about an Xbox 360 there's a variety of reasons as to why you get the quote on quote "red ring of death." The most common is a power failure of some sort. Xbox 360 consoles can't be serviced by Microsoft anymore so I'd advise you to look
at these support recourses below.

If the light on the power brick is the one that's turning red then that's definitely a power failure/a fan failure. That can be solved by simply buying a new power brick in most cases.

hi my xbox too got redlight..tha fan still works buy runs very slow and turns off because of red light..so what could be the problem?harwre failure or the fan?
