    Xbox 2020 Controller not visible on Bluetooth anymore


    I have been using my Xbox controller for a couple months on my new PC build. Over the last 10 days it would start to randomly drop out in the middle of game play however my Bluetooth mouse never has a problem. Today, as I continue to try to solve this daily, I saw a suggestion online of disabling the "game controller" human interface device in the device manager. I cannot remember the exact name of the specific human interface device I disabled I just know it had "game controller" or something like that in the name and has not been visible since so I cannot simply enable it again as I assumed being a Mac user my whole life.

    Long story short, my controller no longer appears as a device in Bluetooth, I have tried uninstalling and reconfiguring my Xbox controller online several times. No dice. Not working wirelessly at all now.

    Is there a way to completely reset this on my computer as if I just bought it and plugged it in for the first time again? I constantly baffled at how many hours and weeks I spend on Windows failures since building my first PC but I expected Microsoft products to work better with Windows which is why I chose an Xbox controller over PS4 controller. Should I just return it and switch to a PS4 controller for reliability?

    Hang on to it for evidence. There is talk of a class action suit being brought up about these controllers when used with PC. It might be one of those "entitled to a refund" sort of things.

    I took mine out of the garbage just in time. SO glad I have a wireless 360 controller that has NEVER failed or disconnected in a decade.

    Thanks Mohammed, I have followed these procedures multiple times over and over. Did you read the whole paragraph below the title? I seem to have a unique problem in that although it was working poorly with Bluetooth, it would at least appear in my Bluetooth devices. I disabled a HID to see if reenabling it would work after but it does not appear since. I had tried everything before that which is why I was getting desperate. My computer has a XIII HERO motherboard, Bluetooth/WIFI antennae and my Bluetooth mouse has never stopped working for one second.

    I tried updating firmware yet again as per the instructions you sent but when I hit the X while it is plugged in there is no "Devices and Connections" or "Profile and System" option, it just goes to XBox Game Bar which I have zero interest in. When I disable "XBox Game Bar" in the settings, the X does nothing.

    Please can somebody please read ALL of this and stop sending me the first google page that comes up since it has been 2 weeks and I have seen all of the basic instructions before. I need help from a knowledgeable expert. This thing worked perfectly on it's own and now its just a WAY overpriced wired controller.
