Xbox 1s compatible with xbox 1 on xbox live?

My son wants an xbox 1s for christmas. He currently has an xbox 360 and says he can't game online using xbox live with friends who have an xbox 1. if i buy him the xbox 1s, will he be able to use xbox live to play with friends who only have an xbox 1?

Unfortunately, if it's the XBOX 360 version, it won't play on XBOX 1\1s as it is not compatible.

I can tell you that there are massive discounts on TF for XBOX 1 at most retailers for $3-$10.

Does a XBox 1 controller work in the new XBox 1s.

Just wondering if the controller from a Xbox 1 will work on the new Xbox 1s..I got the 1 terabyte gears of war edition for my nephew for Christmas and the store where I got the 1s never had any extra controllers for it in stock.Hope his Xbox 1 controller,and
he's got 2, will work on the 1s so my 2 nephews can play together on it..Any info appreciated.

The One and the One S are basically the same system. The S is just smaller and has 4k capabilities. Other than that, both consoles run the same way.

But it isn't compatible with the Xbox 1s, I got that in an error code.

i have 2 other xbox 1 connected wireless and that havnt went funky the xbox 1s is wired...

It gave me an error on the xbox 1s and said it wasn't compatible with this system. Then I looked at my download slip from Amazon and realized I had purchased a game for xbox 360. It will only work on their 360...
