Xbox 12 month gold memberships online store for South Africa

I live in South Africa, I own an Xbox 360, and the only gold membership option I can choose on my Xbox and on the online store is a one month subscription at R159 a month or approximately $11. This equates to about R1800 or $130 a year. . . Which is absolutely
crazy, is there some mistake here? Or is there really no way for me to purchase a 12 month subscription online?

Xbox Live for Xbox One in South Africa

I Recently bought the Xbox One in the UK, and I used to have an Xbox Live Gold account there, with my 360 and with my One. The membership expired and I now want to play online in South Africa (I moved). Could I still purchase a 12 month Xbox Live Gold
account from the UK store and then play online in South Africa ie. pretend I still live in the UK. Will it work? Thanks

Sorry to hear it. Prices are set as per that countries currency rate. However, if you would like to try and save some money it may be worthwhile to check your local gaming stores to see what the prices are for pre-paid membership cards.

I live out of town, so I can't go into stores very often (which is why I was really hoping there would be a good online option). . . .however I do know that the prepaid membership card for 12 month xbox gold is about R800 or $59, my only concern is that
this option isn't available on the online store even though my Xbox advertises it!

If I have to wait to go into a store to get the most economicaly friendly option then, so be it, I'm just a bit miffed that Xbox doesn't give a better option.

I only hope they add the ability to purchase the longer subscriptions in the future.

Buy a 12 month pre-paid subscription card from a game store, a lot cheaper than the online price direct with Microsoft or from CDKeys like I do.

This is also happening to me. I can buy a 1 month extension but cannot get a 12 month membership. I am based in South Africa and they are hitting us with a 218% increase this month or next so I think they are stopping you from buying at the cheaper price.
Which region are you in? They have increased a few countries and you might be in the same boat.
