Xbox 1 x warranty and repair.

Hello . I have a issue with my xbox 1 x not displaying 1080p and it has red lines in 720p. I have tried new cables, tvs, resets and changing a few settings while the xbox was still displaying a image however It hasn't worked. I have taken the two screws
out of the back of the xbox removing a sticker covering one of them to try and blow dust out but i wasn't able to open the steel case due to smaller screws . I was just wondering would that affect the current warranty if sent for repair ?

After looking into this more, it may actually void your warranty.

It is in the warranty policy that you cannot have your device repaired by a 3rd party (anyone other than Microsoft) and that repairs to damage done by the owner are not covered under warranty. So, even though you removed the sticker yourself, they cannot
confirm that it hasn't been attempted to be repaired (and is now defective because of this) or that you are actually responsible for the issue.

With the sticker not being removed, it shows that neither you or a 3rd party is responsible for the issue (because no one has opened the device). So you may run into issues getting it repaired by Microsoft under the warranty.

However, I think you can still pay to have the device repaired by Microsoft.

Well when you pay for repair at xbox you do get 1 year warranty with paid repair and if you buy warranty within that one year you can extend it

only free repairs get 90days warranty or the remainder of your warranty period on free repairs

only paid repairs get 1 year extensions

Thank you for keeping us updated. Do you have an original Xbox One, a Xbox One S or Xbox One X? If you own a Xbox One S or X, you can still have a repair set up when the console is out of warranty. Keep in mind, a Xbox One S or X that is out of warranty
has a fee that must be paid in order to be repaired. The original Xbox One is not able to be repaired if it is out of warranty. You can contact the
Xbox Support Team if you are having issues with setting up a repair for an out of warranty Xbox One S or X. We will provide steps on how to contact the support team. We hope this

As @Juxtapose13 already stated, Xbox 360S are only under warranty for 1 year (and 3 years for old model Xbox 360 on RRoD and E74 issues). Also, going to a repair shop to have the Disk Drive repaired or changed will void the warranty on the console and the
cost of repair will amount up to about 150$ with only a 90 days warranty on the repair itself. So, best thing to do is call Xbox Support 1-800-4my-xbox to see if your console is still under warranty and et it repaired by them.

If your console is an Xbox one and is in warranty, you can try and get a repair if the above suggestions do not work. If it is out of warranty then we no longer support repairs for out of warranty Xbox 360 or Xbox one. If it is an Xbox one S, X you can still
get an out of warranty repair. You can set these up at
device support.
