    Xbox 1 X slow to respond after Aug ‘20 update


    Hi Folks,

    Since the update last week, my Xbox one X has been slow to respond, takes a massive amount of time to start up(approx 2 mins compared to the usual 15 seconds or so), and apps like YouTube, give an error code saying took to long to start. Also the disc player
    will now no longer read discs.

    The only solution I’ve been able to get to work, is to do a hard power down on the console, and unplug it, wait 15 seconds, then restart it.

    This is clearly an issue with the update because there have been ZERO issues until the update.

    Anybody else having these issues, and/or have a solution they have found works?

    My big question is why would MS put out this poor quality of update? All the consoles are the same, it’s not like a computer with different hardware.

    Thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the issues with your console. Some updates can become corrupt while updating. Its happened a few times to me. We recommend a

    soft factory reset     to refresh the update. Also if you are in the insider program you may want to report it on the

    insider forums    . As they get updates and such before the general public.

    New update breaks... everything

    My Xbox is doing the same thing. It is slow to load the home screen, slow to load apps, slow to load games. Even when I turn it on now it is super slow to come on. This new update looks great, but something has got to be fixed. My xbox has never been this
    slow to respond.

    I know its been a while, but was this issue fixed resolved? I have similar issue with my wired connection. I have tried different ports and know good cables and the issue is always with my Xbox.

    Slow downloads for DLC

    I had issue with slow downloads and even at times my Xbox would be slow to start up or even shut down. I have over 150GB of memory available on hard drive so memory wasnt the issue. After calling support they had me go to settings then memory, hit Y and
    clear cache 3 times then on the storage screen click LB RB X LB RB X and an update prompt screen will appear. Update and xbox should run better
