Xbox 1 x - mic not working

I use my turtle beach headset very infrequently; last would have been months ago and there were no issues. I just tried to use it for a multiplayer game and although I can hear everyone in the game, they cannot hear me. I tried the default Xbox headset
and it's the exact same issue. I searched the forums and have done all the normal troubleshooting....no the mic is not muted, yes the mic boom is working (even starting a party chat it recognizes when I mam speaking, there's just no sound), yes I hard reset,
yes I checked my settings....there is no issue I can find and nothing different, on my end, from when I last used it. I have read numerous stories on the forums where Xbox support has been advising to purchase some type of jack (I have the 3.5" plug in on
the controller) w/o actually indicating what the issue actually is. If that is the answer I get I will not be best pleased with you, Xbox.

I've tried on 3 controllers.....the one from my X, my S and to OG 1.....sio that's multiple headsets and multiple controllers.....all the same issue....the issue is not the hardware

I mean it could just be the controller not accurately reading the device? Some times headsets do stuff like that and they eventually work like normal after time and some trial and error. I have had a few headsets that have done that after not using them
for long periods of time so its most likely the fact it hasn't been used and it needs some "warming up" time or it was stored improperly and it has a short internally in the cord...

I'd say mess with the cord and its angle a few times to see if anything changes. The problem could also be your connection. Connection issues can affect party and game audio to that degree where you aren't or aren't accurately being heard because the audio
data isn't get accross.

Like if you can't find an issue with the headset it may be the controller... or the issue may not be a visible one. Its hard to tell some times and I am sorry.

might just be the controller try it on anothother controller if you dont have one get another one so you an try see if it is the controller

I'm getting this problem too. Now my controller won't work at all. It's a plug and play so I know it's connected.
