XBox 1 X keeps loosing IP Address

Hi,

Got a new Xbox 1 over the weekend and it had a stable internet connection. But now it keeps dropping out pf Xbox live and comes up with the error

Cannot get a valid IP Address.

Followed all the solutions of resetting router and powering down xbox for 5 minutes.

Work ok for 5 - 10 minuets then looses connection again.

All other devices have no issues.

Any suggestions as we still have 50GB of game uploads to complete

Have you ran a network test on your Xbox? You can

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Select Network.
Select Network settings. ...
Select Detailed Network Statistics.
The results should appear in a few moments.

Also, sometimes using a wired connection is better than using wireless. If you have a cable wired to connect to your router or modem this will give the best connection. Maybe this link can help https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/network-connection-error-solution.

If the above possible solutions doesnt fix it, try to
Factory Reset your console.

Note: Choose "Keep all my games and apps" to not delete the games current installed.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Also, do a power cycle on your modem/router unplug them for a couple of minutes then plug them back in.

Also, if nothing works and your Xbox is still under warranty you can take it to a nearby Microsoft store and they can run a diagnostic test on it. This test take about 15 mins and you call your local Microsoft store to schedule an appointment.

If the above suggestions don't work you could try setting a static ip address aswell.

So go to Settings > Network > Network Settings > Advanced settings. Here you can find your IPv4 & DNS settings and write down the following settings you see on your tv:

- IP address (Will look something like this 192.168.0.43) (I would recommend using a number in a higher range for the IP address, anywhere between 50-200 should be fine for example like 192.168.0.78 so it wouldn't interfere
with your routers DHCP.)

- Subnet Mask (Will look like this 255.255.255.0)

- Gateway (Will look something like this 192.168.0.1)

- DNS (Will look something like this 192.168.0.1)

Now go to IP settings > Manual

The first option you will fill in the IP address at the second option the
Subnet Mask and the third option the Gateway you wrote down. Now go to DNS settings > Manual. Here you will fill in the
Primary DNS address and next the Secondary DNS address
(You can also put google's dns which is 8.8.8.8 as the secondary DNS if you want).

This way your xbox will have a manual IP and wont have to ask for it from your router.
