Discus and support Xbox 1 X changing audio settings automatically in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have an issue that recently started to occur.     Xbox 1 X changing audio settings automatically


    I have an issue that recently started to occur. My XB1X is changing my audio from HDMI Bitstream with Dolby Atmos for Home Theater to 7.1 uncompressed.

    This happens each time the console is restarted. It does not matter if it is from a Instant On power up or from a Power Saving mode power up.

    I have my Xbox hooked up to an Onkyo reciever which then passes the video along to my TV. I have my console set to turn on/off the reciever and TV.

    I have tried disabling having the console run the other devices and have had tried all combos of startup orders.

    If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

    Yeah I tried a full power cycle including unplugging the power brick from the wall.

    Still happening. I've also cleared the system cache as well.

    You may need to make sure the audio and cords are full recognized.

    If they come loose or move, it could be changing the audio settings.

    A power cycle like said above can fix the problem as well

    Thank you for reaching out. You mentioned this only started recently and in order to make sure this isn't software related, I recommend you try performing a

    factory reset     while keeping your games and apps.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console.
