    Xbox 1 wireless download speed

    Hi,

I am noticing that my XB1 wireless download speed consistently reports a much lower download speed than I actually have from my ISP. I have 30 Mbs connection which my other devices accurately report when running a speed test. But my XB1 shows much less.
I just did a test and showed 10.2 Mbs with 0% packet loss, 195ms latency, 67% wireless strength. Why is it not making use of the available bandwidth?

    :)

  2. What are your Networks stats on Xbox 1?

    Interesting stats...

    Download Speed: 6mbps (averages 5)

    Upload Speed: 1mbps (averages .4)

    Latency/Ping: ~100ms

    Wireless Strength: 65%

    Packet Loss: 0-1%

does ethernet xbox one download faster?

So I'm finally doing my first digital purchase (sunset) and am currently doing wireless its currently at about 1:30 and 25%

So what I'm wondering since I'm not tech savvy is simply would there be any good reason for me to move my xbox over to the ethernet (only the power cable would be plugged into the xbox) and let it download or are the download speeds pretty much identitical when it comes to wired or wireless?

    Hi,

have you already checked your download speet on a PC which is directly (cable) connected to your router. Mostly, your ISP ist telling you the max. spped you can get but at the end it is much more less. If you have for example a real download rate of 20 Mbs,
a big amount also vanish by a bad WiFi connection.

I have tested it with a PC on different places in the house and the download rate with 60% WiFi strength is much more less than a connection with 90%.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have checked the speed - both directly connected to my ISP modem and over my WiFi connection. Speed test across both scenarios show me approx. 30 Mbs.

try to get your signal strength to your console up considerably. Is it in a cabinet? Blocked in an entertainment center etc..?

    Just some ideas.

The console is out in the open, in that its in an entertainment center but not locked away, its on an outside shelf. I suspect that strength might be part of it and also the latency between me and the MSFT servers. My last multi-player test indicated 20%
    packet loss.

Slow download speed on Xbox One

1/4th would be a blessing. The network tests are averaging .06-1mbps download speed. Ping, packet loss, upload speed and wireless strength are perfectly normal though.
