xBox 1 screen time settings not working

I have set the screen time restrictions for my child's profile via my family settings online. These time restrictions are not taking effect on my child's Xbox 1 profile. (I have reset, rebooted and confirmed the correct account is being used.)

    :)

Xbox screen time settings no longer working

Hi all I am having huge issues getting xbox scredn time settings to now work on my sons account. I have checked other forums and tried various solutions but none seem to work.

The issue i am having is that the screen time settings on my family settings dont always seem to carry over into my sons family account. Quite often he logs on and the screen limit says 00:00 when i have blocked a day or displays the end of the block time
(e.g. 16:00) I have set for a day but ignores the play time limit I have set.

I have tried removing his account, restsring the xbox and thus clearing the cache. When I do this and re add his account the screen time settings activate and start being carried through to my sons account. However when the xbox is subsequently restarted
the same issue happens and the screen time limits/settings dont carry through again. To get screen time to work i am having to do this process on a daily basis. Can anyone advice on how i can get the settings to remain after the machine is turned off?

    Thanks

    Xbox Screen time Settings

Trying to limit screen time spent gaming, but would like to exempt services like Netflix, Hulu, etc. Is there a way to whitelist those apps on the Xbox without using gaming screen time? Only other workaround I can think of is to make a separate
account just for TV use but would prefer to avoid that. Thanks!
That's easy, just sign out of your account. Applications like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and other streaming apps do not require a user to be logged in. They can all be accessed without an active user.

Family Screen Time Settings not working on multiple Xbox

    Hey Mike B999

It’s essential to ensure consistent screen time limits across multiple Xbox consoles. Let’s troubleshoot this issue and get your second Xbox to adhere to the time restrictions:

    1. Update Your Xbox Console:
      • First, make sure your second Xbox is up to date with the latest software updates. You can do this by navigating to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update.
      • Keeping the console updated ensures it functions correctly and includes any bug fixes.
    2. Verify Screen Time Limits:
      • Visit account.microsoft.com/family and sign in with your Microsoft account.
      • Select your child’s account and verify that the screen time limits are correctly set up.
      • Ensure that the time limits match your desired restrictions.
    3. Reset the Second Xbox:
      • If the screen time limits are correctly configured, try resetting the second Xbox. Here’s how:
        1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off.
        2. Turn it back on and check if the screen time limits are now functioning as expected.
    4. Check the System Clock:
      • Sometimes incorrect system time can affect screen time limits. When you catch your son playing, check the system clock on the second Xbox.
      • Additionally, consider setting a PIN on his account that only you know. This adds an extra layer of control.
    5. Test with a New Account:
      • Create a test account using an email you can easily create (such as Outlook or another temporary one).
      • Add that account to your family and set screen time limits.
      • Observe if the new account experiences the same issue.
    6. Contact Xbox Support:
      • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, reach out to Xbox support for further assistance.
      • They can provide more in-depth troubleshooting and help you resolve the issue effectively.
Remember, persistence pays off! Hopefully, these steps will help your second Xbox follow the screen time limitations consistently. Happy gaming!

Family Screen Time Settings not working on multiple Xbox

Thanks for the response! I did see a similar post and tried most of those options already except resetting the Xbox. Does this reset it to factory original settings?

Also did not contact Xbox support yet either. Thanks again for the advice!
