Xbox-1 Screen Flashing a Black Screen

Thanks for the reply! I understand there is an issue with the Xbox one. I recommend trying a
power cycle
of the console and the following article: Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while
your Xbox One is on .

If the problem persists, try doing a soft factory reset of the console,
Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles and stable internet connection.

Try this out and let us know the results.

sorry to hear. I think you should first check another HDMI 2.0 Cable and if this will not help I think you your Display Settings has to be changed. Select the settings that are best for your television by following these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings.
3. Select Display & sound, and then select Video output.
   
4. Choose the display and picture settings appropriate for your TV.

Notes

• TV resolution settings are selected automatically. Typically, you shouldn't have to adjust these settings.

If you have instant on enabled for your console then turn this off and reboot your console and see if you still have the problem.

I had a similar issue but my screen went green instead and only when it came to videos also.

It was a good while back now but the issue is if i remember correctly that the xbox cache doesnt get a chance to clear with the xbox always been on. So doing what i said before gives it a chance to do this.

You can turn instant on afterwards but personally i left it off as to not have this issue in the future.

I has no optical so direct Xbox -> TV using the HDMI high speed with Ethernet cable and setting stereo audio. I has noticed an improve. A black screen flash I think is signal of sync, if we have various or delayed it can be because sync problems.

The results, when connecting to:

- Xbox ->(stock cable) ->A/V receiver -> (HDMI high speed) -> TV: 1 black screen flash within 10 seconds of power on.

- Xbox -> (HDMI high speed cable) -> TV: 1 black screen flash within 1 minute.

- Xbox -> (stock cable) -> TV: multiple black screen flashes within 10 minutes.

The results are good at least for my TV (Philips), because within 1 minute I am loading the game/App yet, or maybe on dashboard.

Hey there, Pema! We are currently still investigating the black screen flashes. The snowy/static screen and HDCP errors were the ones resolved recently. Please keep an eye on that thread for updates on the black screen flashes!
