    Xbox 1 S console refuses to connect to wifi, even though Xbox 1 sitting RIGHT NEXT TO IT ...


    Back in June 2016, I took the plunge and bought a 2nd hand Xbox One... And it has served me well....most of the time. Never had a real problem with its wifi link up with my mobile wifi dongle. Said Xbox and dongle sits only 4 feet/1.2 metres away from
    each other. The only downside to all of this setup is the mobile phone signal can lag a little but the link up works well.

    Here is the rub though. I bought a Xbox One S just before Christmas...for the HDR game play and to have it replace the One in time. But even though both boxes sit right next to each other....can the One S connect online??? Nope! You buy a brand new Xbox
    to get bugger all connection to wifi. I repeatedly move the dongle....move the One S and I have more luck using the One.

    So Microsoft. Over to you. Does the One S need a wired connection or could you tell me and others where you've put the wifi connector on the One S and why a £249 box can't connect to a wifi signal???!!!!

    High Pitch noise with Xbox 1 and PS3

    Can anybody help? I am getting a high pitch whistling sound when connecting my son's xbox 1 and PS3 to my plasma TV. Originally I thought it was the PS3 fans as it only occurred when the console had been on for sometime. Now my son has connected his Xbox 1 it is on all the time, especially as we have our Humax receiver connected through the Xbox. The sound appears to be coming from the TV itself, but is only there if one of the two consoles are in use. If i change the input/port to play a dvd not connected to the consoles the sound goes away, even though the consoles are still connected and on. Have tried changing all the HDMI leads but to no avail.

    I selected the $1 Gold and it says that my xbox couldn't connect to xbox live but my WiFi is next me

    Hey there SimonVRadioDJ.

    You mentioned mobile phone signal, are you using a mobile connection for your internet? That may be the root of the problem especially if you're connecting multiple devices to it. Also, if you haven't tried already, give your Xbox One a power cycle by holding
    down the power button for 8-10 seconds.

    What specifically would allow the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to connect while the built-in wifi would not?

    My Xbox 360 S detects a wireless signal with 4 bars, and I am testing it while sitting it right next to the modem, so there is no issue with signal strength.

    My Xbox 360 S's built-in wifi is able to connect to a hotspot, and it is even able to connect to my neighbor's wifi from my house.

    I have a Sony 40' LED Full HDTV and sit 2-4 metres away from it HDMI connection. The smaller font size is usually found on smaller tiles on the Xbox 1 Dashboard and in some other areas. Even Xbox 360's Dashboard font size isn't that small. It isn't a major
    issue for me though just that the Xbox 1's Dashboard font size in some aspects is smaller than the font size with Xbox 360's Dashboard.
