    Xbox 1 Notifications.

What I like about Xbox 1 notifications is how big they are. It even plays the notifications [beep] sound when watching a DVD/Bluray on Xbox 1. When you get a notification on Xbox 360, you get the notification but non [beep] when watching a DVD but you do
get the [beep] when watching a Youtube vid Dashboarding or playing games on Xbox 360.

One of the things I find is better with the Xbox 360 is the notifications has better algorithms on Xbox 360 than on Xbox 1. To be more exact, the notification bubble on Xbox 360 appears either on the bottom centre, top centre of screen, top right of the
screen, or top left of the screen. This depends on the game your playing or where you are in an app or game. The notification must have a smart AI to make the bubble for Xbox 360 notifications appear where it DOESN'T cover up important text or picture areas
that your TV is displaying. With Xbox 1's notifications, well... they big and square, and ONLY appear on the bottom centre..... of the screen, even if it.... has to be rude and it blocks text or game info displayed on the screen.

Unlike Xbox 360, when you sign in to Xbox 1, it doesn't tell you how many friends you have online, which is what the Xbox 360 system does.

Does anyone else wish to share their experiences with Xbox 1 notifications? I know when a friend signs in, it displays their gamerpic which is kind of nice.

    :)

+1 - I liked that feature previously or at least give us the opportunity to enable/disable notifications

    Xydiz,

Have you checked to make sure that your notifications are turned on?

If not please follow these steps to check.

    1. Hit the menu key of the controller.
    2. Go to Settings > Preferences.
    3. Got to Notifications
    4. Check that the "Notifications Banners On" has a check mark
    5. Go into Xbox notifications and make sure that the notifications are "On".

The only issue I can think of right now that I've had with the Xbox One notifications is with the one that lets you know your game is ready. When it appears, if you don't accept it or decline it, it stays on-screen for far too long and if you join the game
without using the notification (by simply selecting the game rather than the notification), it fails to realize that fact and still stays on the screen.

There are some from the 360 that I do miss - your aforementioned # of friends online, for example, but I can see why they don't have it; it's easy enough to see on the far right of the Home screen as the Friends tab actually bleeds over into it just enough
for you to see that info (basically, the notification isn't necessary). Another example of one that I miss is the one that would let you know when a friend started playing the same game you already were as well as the one that would show you how many of your
friends were playing the game that you just started. Those were both good ways to more easily figure out who you could or wanted to play with together, if you were so inclined.

It's not notification-based, but whatever happened to the beacons? I wouldn't mind having those back. Xbox 1 Notifications. :)

I enjoy the new Xbox Notifications system. Although, I would like to be able to clear out my "Notification History".

Game ready notifications do stay on a little to long. I believe that is for the user that gets up and walks away, and grabs a coke, or uses the restroom and when he gets back he can use it. But for the user that does not get up it is near torture. LOL.

I also miss beacons GG. We are missing so many features that are on the 360 that should be on the Xbox One. I miss it saying "Galactic Geek is playing "Killer Instinct" if I have that set as a beacon.

I left some feedback about allowing devs to choose the notification position the other day. It's a pain on the One, especially if you're playing Pinball FX2 and you get an achievement, as the notification covers the flippers for several seconds.
