    Xbox 1: Need an Adult to Sign in, but I'm an adult.


    Since Christmas, I have attempted to sign in woth my Microsoft account on my Xbox One. However, once I enter my username and password,!I am given the message saying I need an adult to sign in. Even when I select "I'm an adult", I am asked for an adult to
    sign in. My birthday is August 12, 1991. I checked onto my Microsoft account and my birthdate is entered correctly. Even though my Microsoft account says I'm an adult, my Xbox still won't let me continue without another adult signing in, and nobody in my family
    has their own Microsoft account besides me. If there is a solution to this, I would be very grateful if someone could inform me. Thanks in advance.

    I don't understand what changed?

    I have since day 1 of getting the Xbox One console been able to sign in my account with no problems asked whatsoever... however now I'm having problems. Whenever I go to sign in, it asks me if I am, or am not an adult. After choosing that I AM an adult,
    it asks me to have an adult/parent conformation. I don't quite understand though; if I'm the parent account/ have an adult account/ am an adult, why would I need to have this confirmed? I have NEVER been asked for parent conformation on ANYTHING on my 3 years
    with Xbox 360 , so whats changed?

    Ok I now have managed to make a new adult account but every time I'm trying to change it from the child to the adult account it says, Sign up not available.

    Was this resolved? I'm having the same issue, it keeps telling me to add an adult and I've signed in multiple times but it keeps telling me that I need to add an adult in order to add a child.

    Content Restrictions

    Hi, is your account under parental controls ?

    If that's the case then the parental account will need to sign in and change any restrictions on your account.

    If that's not the case and your account is an adult account and you also have a child account signed in that has content restrictions set then those restrictions will also affect the adult account until the child account signs out.

    Is it possible to remove a child account from xbox family settings?

    You'll need to use the adult account in managing or removing him. Make sure that you're signed in under the organizer/adult account.

    Hi there Mamabear,

    Thanks for the reply. To help clarify:

    Console A- Will need to have the adult with the subscription and child account logged in to use the Xbox Live subscription.

    Console B-

    You will need to set the adult profile with the subscription as the home Xbox.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select
      My home Xbox.
    3. Sign out of adult profile.
    4. Try using subscription on the child's account.

    Console C-

    Will need a live subscription.
