PS if prices are wrong, I apologize but as far as I know those prices are correct only the HD drive prices have changed depending on location, my wal mart has it for 99.99 when they are in stock.

They took 50 bucks off of the bundle to give you an incentive to buy it. Seems like basic marketing to me.

Okay, so initial predictions were correct then. Many people were saying early on that the Kinect, if sold separately, would be $150 (or at least $100+). It makes me glad I only paid $500 for both at once instead of $400 + $150 for both separately. Still,
I suppose you could argue that you're getting a free game that kind of makes it a sweet deal, since you're effectively getting what could of been a $60 game for $50 (a savings of $10) on top of the $400 console and additional $100 to make it even with the
original Xbox One release. Then again, it IS a Kinect game.

Oh well, in the end everybody wins.

 

Or you could buy a Kinect 2.0 on ebay for a cheaper price.

 

Heh, the last I saw un-used ones were going on eBay for about $40-50.

 

Those are cheaper to be sure, but there's also no guarantee that they'll even work properly, if at all. I'd rather buy it new (if I didn't already have one that is) and ensure that it works perfectly instead.

 

Right because everything MS makes works perfectly. I get it.

 

It cracks me up when people bring the EBay price into consideration. When this launches if not sooner those prices will rise.

It's cheaper to get Xbox 1 WITH the Kinect in the first place!! NZ RRP for Xbox 1 is $599 without Kinect and $749 with Kinect. If it's gona be over US$100 for just the Kinect, or say US$150, that's gona be something like about NZ$200 possibly a little
more. $200+$599=$799. Some say Kinect is not worth US$100. The fact that Microsoft may be charging OVER US$100 for a standalone Kinect for someone who had a "change of mind" is kind of like punishment. Unless you get a second hand Kinect or manage to find
one from somewhere probably not an authorized Xbox retailer.

 

Its nothing like a punishment. It costs more to distribute it as a standalone product therefore that is reflected in the standalone price.

 

So it costs an extra US$49 for a bit or cardboard packaging, and shipping? I'm just kidding.

I accept that it will cost more to manufacturer a standalone Kinect.

 

It wont cost any more to manufacture, but setting up separate assembly lines for internal packaging, storage and then distribution is going to substantially increase the cost I would think.

 

Cost me $599 as a day 1 with a Fifa code that I never got. Technically speaking, I've seen the Without Kinect version for $388 here in Aus with game, if it's the same Deal in Australia, it would still be cheaper to buy seperate. Therefore, it's not a bad
deal from where I live.
