Just kidding. I don't have Kinect for Xbox 360, but I got the Xbox 1 Day 1 edition console with Kinect. Xbox 1's Kinect has a higher resolution and can read QR codes and has better voice recepters and I think it's slimmer too. To video chat on Xbox 1 console,
you need Kinect and the Skype app. It's worth investing the extra $100 in Xbox 1 Kinect. I have Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals, and those games are real fun with Kinect. Xbox 360's Kinect would probably conk out if it was used for those games, to me Xbox
1's Kinect has better hardware. Xbox 1's Kinect also has an internal fan to keep it looking kwl on the inside and out.

It's better to invest in the Xbox 1 with Kinect. Microsoft can easily charge more than US$100 for a stand alone Xbox 1 Kinect. In NZ, they still have an RRP price of NZ$179 for the Xbox 360 Kinect and the standalone Xbox 1 console is RRP NZ$599 or for the
console with Kinect, RRP NZ$749 even though some authorized retailers here are selling it a bit below the RRP. Kinect is very cool. A Kinect-less console means you pay less for, well..... less....., and if you decide to get the Kinect, you would have wished
you got the Xbox 1 with Kinect to save you money from buying a stand alone Kinect.

Don't believe BestBuy employees who probably only earn minimum wage. THEY are NOT Microsoft. Microsoft has discontinued manufacturing Xbox 360 consoles. They wouldn't discontinue manufacturing Xbox 1 Kinects, yet! There is officially NO Xbox 1 version 2

What I meant in the parenthesis is that the version of Kinect v2 for Windows IS discontinued, but what he told me is that the Kinect v2 for Xbox One was also discontinued. I am not interested in the Kinect version 1. My question was about the Kinect v2 for
Xbox One availability.

But apparently it is still available, at least for now. Only the kinect v1 is not available on microsoft website. I had to do some research just to be sure.

Get your money back for the Kinect. Microsoft discontinued the adapter you need to make it work. People are selling those adapters for nearly 200 online last time I checked.
