    Xbox 1 Kinect chat issue


    Has anyone else had problems with their Xbox 1 Kinect recordings sound strange? If I send a voice message to a friend or try to record commentary for a highlight video I'm editing on my X1, the playback of my voice sounds like I'm talking through a huge
    fan. Choppy and often missing some sound like a bad cell phone call. I have tried numerous fixes and it even does it while plugged in to a friends' Xbox. It was brand new from Target and I had never thought to check my Mic sound before. All of my friends say
    the party chat sounds fine but the voice messages I send sound awful.

    Try this:

    Check the Kinect microphone setting

    If you’re using the microphone in the Kinect sensor for chat, make sure no headsets are connected to your console (wired or wireless). Then, make sure the chat microphone on the Kinect sensor is on.

    To turn on the Kinect chat microphone:

    Sign into Xbox LIVE.

    Press the Guide button on your controller.

    Select Chat & IM.

    Make sure the Kinect microphone is set to On.

    Can I use my XBOX 360 Kinect with my Xbox one?

    Apparently, Xbox 1 doesn't really like Xbox 360 PPPPP

    Just kidding. I don't have Kinect for Xbox 360, but I got the Xbox 1 Day 1 edition console with Kinect. Xbox 1's Kinect has a higher resolution and can read QR codes and has better voice recepters and I think it's slimmer too. To video chat on Xbox 1 console,
    you need Kinect and the Skype app. It's worth investing the extra $100 in Xbox 1 Kinect. I have Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals, and those games are real fun with Kinect. Xbox 360's Kinect would probably conk out if it was used for those games, to me Xbox
    1's Kinect has better hardware. Xbox 1's Kinect also has an internal fan to keep it looking kwl on the inside and out.

    Voice Commands is a Kinect Feature. Invest in Kinect, I got the Xbox 1 Day 1 Edition, it's worth it. These are the things you can do with Kinect, it isn't just play 1 or 2 games with it: (1) certain games including Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals have
    Kinect Features (2) scans QR Xbox code without having to enter the code (3) sign in with it (4) voice commands (5) video chat on your console with friends using the Kinect and Skpye app (6) use it for voice chat on your console, or you may break or lose the
    mic because I get this with some of my friends on Xbox 360.

    The Kinect isn't that big. I got an HDTV mount for my Kinect and it fits safely and securely ontop of my HDTV even though I got a slim 1080p Sony KDL40EX720 LED HDTV.

    Is it EA's servers for Battlefield or something else?

    Haven't had chat issues if they use their mics. You are running into goofballs using the kinect for voice or not disabling voice chat for kinect in settings.
