    xbox 1 has no sound from menu only tv sound


    Having trouble figuring out how to get the sound from the xbox menu and games rather than listening to my tv channel even when in home screen or game mode. I have all correct Hdmi cables in correct location, 1 coming out of xbox1 going into xfinity x1 box
    then out from their into tv. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

    Urgent help needed

    i have my xbox slim wired to my surround sound via optical cable, it was fine till this morning then all of a sudden i only get sound from the startup logo and video's, no settings have been changed, i don't get any menu sounds or game sounds yet i do through
    hdmi to the tv, i have unplugged, restarted and even swapped cables please help.

    yep tv has 2 scart connectors correct,there is an hdmi cable from virgin box connected to tv,1 scart from virgin connected to surround sound system,the other scart from virgin box also connected to the tv.there is only 1 hdmi lead that connects the xbox
    to the tv...hope this helps you zac...thanks.

    HDMI Audio & Optical Audio

    Both the HDMI Audio and Optical Audio is set to "Stereo Uncompressed" in my XBOX Settings Menu.

    Yes, I have tried connecting the Sound Bar to my TV. I don't have an Optical Input on my TV, so I used the Red / White RCA cables. The Sound Bar does not work from the TV - because it is not on the same HDMI input.

    (I have 7 inputs on my TV: XBOX One is on Input 7, and my cable box is on Input 8. The RCA Inputs are on Input 4.) When I connect the Red / White RCA cables to my cable box though, the Sound Bar works perfectly.

    This is what is confusing. HDMI sound and RCA sound is coming fine from the cable box. But, only HDMI sound is coming from the XBOX One. The Sound Bar is silent.

    So how are we meant to use speakers with the Xbox One?

    My T.V only has digital audio output and my surround sound only has analog intput so i bought a digital to analog audio converter, so i have my xbox connected to my tv via HDMI then the digital audio out from the tv to the converter, then finally from the
    converter to my surround sound via a L/R AUX cable. That's how i get sound from the xbox to speakers.

    G’day george! I removed the settop cable from the xbox, and there is now no sound coming from the Xbox at all when in a game. The Tv has only one HDMI cable, so I have the Settop box plugged into the Xbox and the Xbox plugged into the TV. But again, No
