xbox 1 frozen on dashboard after 30 seconds since update

I fixed my problem. Instead of turning off your router or disconnecting the power for 30 seconds, I unscrewed my cable wire from the wall and reattached. Ever since the new dashboard update it seems like it uses more bandwidth maybe? So I guess some of my
bandwidth was sort of frozen or something If that makes sense from a lot of demand- because Internet was still working just not xbox live. But after removing my cable wire from the wall to the modem and reattaching it now works perfectly. Maybe could be a
solution for you guys?

I'm not so sure all of this is faulty controllers.

Yesterday I started having an issue on the dashboard where the left stick wouldn't move to navigate the dashboard. It would last 20 to 30 seconds and then suddenly every input I had made with it when it wasn't responding moved through my dashboard.

Strange thing is, when the stick doesn't work the other controller buttons still do so it's not an issue with the dashboard being frozen (if the "TV" is up in the large box it's still playing too so definitely not a frozen dashboard). This is occurring with
both my controllers.

I just sent Sniper Elite back to GameFly after only two levels because of what I believed was unresponsive controls, now it appears it may not have been the game.

As an update for me. It's been probably 2 weeks without incident and the only thing that I can think of that has changed is that the dashboard background which was an achievement image had disappeared unexpectedly, likely after the umpteenth hard reset.
Since this time the Xbox has not frozen. It seems this particular issue has multiple causes.

Just bought the xbox .. update fails within 1 second of trying. Internet works, says its connected. Hard booted after unplugging for 30 seconds .. lots of complaints on the forums. Need a response!

Also, when first loading the game, the Halo 4 logo was frozen on screen for 20-30 seconds before it finally fired up. I was able to bring up the console menu as well as go to dashboard, so it wasn't a console freeze. Hope this helps with finding a cure.
