    I recently added the Samsung Harmon Kardon HW-N950 soundbar which features Dolby Atmos/DTS-X processing to my Xbox setup. I downloaded and installed the Dolby Atmos firmware, then followed the setup instructions. When I try to select the Dolby Atmos (
    HDMI only) in the bitstream format, I get the error code 0x80bd0009. Why is Xbox not allowing Dolby Atmos to be selected?

    Brad,

    There was no problem with the sound from the Xbox before I added the soundbar. The goal was to be able to experience Dolby Atmos from the soundbar and the Xbox but apparently the software/firmware has issues. This gives me serious concerns once/if I upgrade
    to the Xbox One X and a 4k tv. Getting the best sound from movies and games is a key part of the home theater experience. Apparently, Microsoft and Samsung are both not up to the task of performing serious user testing before releasing their products.

    Hello Rgiskard,

    Have you tried just connecting the Xbox console directly to the TV without the sound bar? Make sure the sound is working that way. With third party accessories, and such we are very limited to troubleshoot options. When testing direct connection, you may have
    to change all settings to auto detect. If this works fine this way, then it's something to do with the sound bar not connecting correctly.
