Xbox 1 controller sticks wont work but power button does

Discus and support Xbox 1 controller sticks wont work but power button does in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; My controller just stop working.     Xbox 1 controller sticks wont work but power button does


    My controller just stop working. I am able to turn use it to turn console on and off but I am unable to use the sticks once the 1 turns on..Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

    I am having the same problem and people are telling me to hold the power button on the console for ten seconds to power it off. Then pull out the power cable in the back and let it sit of five minuets. This is not working for me, it just extends the time
    before is freezes again, but this might work for you.

    I can turn it on and off from the controller--sticks work to turn console off but once it comes on--the sticks do not work..any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hey Jake,

    Thanks for reaching out here are a few steps on how to sync your controller when its broken.

    1. Plug Controller in USB.

    2. Hold Power Button for 10 seconds.

    3. Unplug the Power Cord for 10 seconds.

    4. Plug Power Cord back in to Xbox.

    5. Power On Xbox Press Power Button on Console.

    6. Soft Power down Xbox Press Button once.

    7. Disconnect USB from Xbox and Controller.

    8. Power on Xbox with Controller.

    1) Power cycle the controller

    I have done this many many times and still does not work

    2) Update controller

    Controller is fully up to date, still does not work

    3) Try the controller on Xbox

    Tried on Xbox series x and the Xbox button works as normal

    4) Try using controller on mobile/other pc

    Tried on my iPhone and the xbox button works as normal. Do not have another pc to try it on.

    Seems the Xbox button is working just fine though just not with the Xbox game bar.

    Xbox Elite Controller thumbstick drift

    Day 1: New Elite Controller purchased.

    Good Sticks seem tight.

    First rotation of left stick appears ok.

    First rotation of Right stick: worrisome, can hear a click as it rotates past the 4 O'Clock position.

    Xbox accessories app shows sticks are stable and no jitter.

    All buttons seem ok, including the shoulder buttons.

    Triggers seem ok too.

    I wont do every day obviously, but want a time stamp record of moments of concern.
