Xbox 1 Controller Fried

I have been playing xbox for about 10 years and had an xbox live for almost the entire time. Never once have i ever had to contact support about problems until today when my xbox 1 controller basically fried itself. I have been in an bout of the hospital
for the last year and was bought an xbox for my birthday in april. Today about 7 months after the fact, my controller decided to not turn on. I put new batteries in and it turned on for a sec then died. After i looked up some troubleshooting ideas i found
something about plugging it into the xbox with a mini usb which i did. The controller turned on similarly but lasted a little longer this time but ultimately died. Except now i started smelling a weird burning smell from around the headphone jack coupled with
the bottom starting to get really hot. I contacted support and they said all that i had a 3 month warranty on accessories and that was it. Even though i have not mistreated this controller or even really used it very much since i was in the hospital they still
would not help me out. This should be a problem that microsoft fixes and not something that someone should have to pay for out of their own pocket. This is completely **** up and after this I no longer want to be associated with microsoft or xbox again unless
this changes. Untill then there is a good chance im smashing my xbox and going to playstation.

I am trying to connect a Xbox one controller to my Xbox but the pair button doesn't work.

Recently my Xbox one fell on the floor and the side plate fell off, and the pair button is fried. About a week later I paired my Xbox one controller to my phone but, I can't pair the controller to my Xbox one again because... my pair button is fried. What
do I do?

(FYI if this helps I have the original Xbox one.)

 

fried controller motherboard (model 1708)

i have the xbox one s controller (model 1708) and it would appear that the lower motherboard has fried and i cannot find a replacement anywhere on the computer can anyone help

 

You have been a happy customer for 10 years and you have one issue and you are ready to throw in the towel? The support rep is accurate that the accessories do have a 90 day warranty. However, there may be a difference since that controller came with a
console (not 100% sure but worth pursuing). When you were talking to support did you make it clear that it came with the console? If not you should call back and check to see if that does make a difference as I have heard that is did but I have also heard
that it did not and I don't know the exact answer. Give it another try and make sure they understand that it came with your console.

Anyway, It would be much less expensive to replace a faulty controller than to replace the system and games. Hang in there.
