    Xbox 1 auto shuts down due to overheating without actually overheating


    My Xbox will shut off within minutes of turning it on, and when I turn it back on again a screen comes up that basically says "Xbox One shuts off automatically when overheating". Issue is, my console is not hot or even warm, at ALL. Placement is completely
    wide open with no blocked vents, the external power supply is the same way.

    sound like you are overheating it and it self trying shut down to keep from overheating

    Does your XBOX360 freeze?

    Nope. We've had it shut down from overheating in the past, but not freezing

    This happens to me too, but only when playing co-op in Borderlands 3. The system will just shut off, it's not actually overheating, it only thinks it's overheating.

    Try toggling the performance mode either on or off. Sometimes just switching this will keep it going without shutting off.
