Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 Online Game Play Question..

OK, I am sorry if this is a stupid question but I honestly don't know the answer to it.

If I have the Xbox 1 with Call of Duty and a friend has the 360 with Call of Duty (same game) can we play online together? Or are the systems that different that even online gaming can not be done?

Compatibility

We're thinking of buy an Xbox One partly as my son can't currently play his Xbox 360 online with friends who have an Xbox One. Two questions:

1. Will our current Kinect box work with the new Xbox One S or the Xbox 1?

2. Are the Xbox One and Xbox One S compatible together online?

 

So I am getting a free 360

I am going to get Titanfall, both L4D's, Zoo Tycoon, and Snoopy ' s Flying Ace. Now, a few questions, as I haven't played a Xbox since the original when I was a wee lad.
Do I get Xbox Live Gold in order to play online?
Do people still play the L4D's online anymore?
So I had COD4 on the PS3. ..barely anyone plays online for that game anymore..is it the same for the 360?
What games have exclusive DLC only for Xbox 360?

You can't play online with 360 gamers, no game has or ever will have this ability.

 

Would be nice but unfortunately there is no cross platform gaming.

of his 360 stats will carry over if he were to play on Xbox One and vice versa. In addition, if he bought CoD AW digitally for 360, he can get the Xbox One version for free until March 31st, 2015: Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare

Both your Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 consoles sole official online service is Xbox Live. Xbox 360 uses 15,000 Xbox Live servers worldwide, where as Xbox 1 uses a different group of 300,000 Xbox Live servers.
