XBOS3004 from Live starter pack purchased from Sainsbury's UK - account region is UK

Hi

My dad bought me a 12 month Xbox Live Gold Starter Pack. All the codes work fine except for the £5 gift which returns XBOS3004. The starter pack was bought in the UK at a reputable supermarket and my region is set to the UK

What region is your XBL account? What region is your credit card from? What region do you physically live in?

Example:

US-US-US or US-UK-UK or UK-US-Au

Is there any way to change region from Ireland to the UK, as my account region is Ireland but I live in the UK.

Hi there,

According to the error code page, that error is indeed caused by a potential region difference.

Have you tried to redeem the code on the Xbox website?

account.xbox.com/.../RedeemCode

At the bottom of the page, it should say United Kingdom. This should be the correct region to redeem the code. If it says a different region, simply click it and choose the UK. When you go to the URL, it should say en-GB, which shows that the URL locale
is suitable for the code you're trying to redeem.

You would need to buy points that match the region of your account. So if you have a UK account you need to buy UK points from a site like http://live-codes.com

Be aware though that some content, such as the Call of Duty: Black Ops map-packs, will be blocked from you because account region must match your physical region.

I fail to see how the points you purchased for the UK account are rendered useless. You can still use them on content that is not REGION RESTRICTED. In order to buy the Black Ops Map Packs you must actually live in the same region
as your account region. That is how region restricted content works.

Your only choices here are one of two:

1-Create a new Australian account (to reflect where you live as well) and add Australian MSP to it then download the map pack(s).

2-Go back to the UK and download the content with your UK account.

alibuggy i don't think you know what the issue is

using 2100 ms points is fine but if you purchase 2100ms points from UK they can only be redeemed on a UK account

UK points cannot be redeemed on CZ

this is why we always say purchase points and content from where you actually live in

you can create A UK account if you want and redeem the UK points there

but remeber your disk language and dlc language must match

if you purchase the disk for your region and have the correct account region for your disk then you would be fine
