XBOne Price drop after dismissals of a price drop recently

I bought an xbox one fifa bndle for the price of £449 literally a couple of weeks ago. Before this i carried out as much research as possible into the possibility of a price drop, everything released and available dismissed any price drop. An example being
a tweet froma microsoft employee. ( Microsoft Dismisses Talk of Cheaper Xbox One)

To find out that the console is now being sold for £399 with titanfall is really a HUGE KICK IN THE TEETH to anyone who bought the console. I didnt buy it straight away as usually there are drops or bundles within a short space of time but the Xbox one has
been out a fair few months now and all the tweets and press releases were dismissive of a drop.

Titanfall is the only game worth getting at the moment and i will be paying premium price for it, £40+ no doubt while people will be getting it bundled now, meab=ning they pay £360 for the Xbone.

Ive had every xbox going and am just so incredibly peeved right now. Not only do microsoft charge you the absolute maximum for everything on the marketplace, not only are all the games coming out in low resolutions but now theyve just gone and given all
the recent buyers and early adopters a massive finger after saying that there were going to be no price drops!

I for one think i might as well sell it while i can and get a PS4. The ONEGuide doesnt even work in the UK, after all the fuss about that too! nightmare.

So far im BITTERLY disappointed the XBOX and will be telling all my friends exactly that. Furthermore even registering a complaint seems like an impossible task! WTF!

To drop prices twice so soon is a smack in the face for the most loyal customers who bought at launch or soon after

Rrp was £430 at launch,games rrp £60. So £350 including a game is a price drop of £140 in real terms, just 4 months after launch

It smacks of desperation, but they have to do something

Whilst the xbone is selling well in usa, in uk & europe it simply isn't. It comes down to supply and demand.

Personally I'd rather they kept the price the same and used that money to develop games. Games sell consoles.

Far Cry 3 is one of the best games this console generation and worth every penny of that $39.99, IMO.

 

I totally understand how it must feel for anyone who has bought the console that recently. Unfortunately, I guess it has to happen to someone, this time it happened to be you and anyone else in that same boat. All things depreciate in value and prices lower,
it's pretty difficult to work out of course when it will happen. I did not expect a price drop like that on the console this early. With the different bundles and deals I'm not totally sure what the offers were but if I'm right, the console was £429 on its
own and £449 with a digital copy of FIFA or COD Ghosts. so now the console is £30 cheaper with a digital copy of Titanfall being bundled in for free. That is a really good deal! When you compare it to the price of a PS4 + a game, the X1 is now much more competitively
priced, infact with the Kinect being bundled in as well it is probably even better value now than a PS4.

So for you, you've paid £50 more to get the console 3 weeks earlier than you would have buying a FIFA bundle this Friday. Yeah, I would be annoyed as well, I have no idea if Xbox or the retailer would compensate you in any way for that. Obviously, you are
one of thousands in the same sort of position so I guess there probably won't be much they can do other than give you something crummy like 1 month of free live.

I don't think selling the console for a PS4 would be particularly wise though. There's plenty of things the PS4 can't do either at this time. The PS3 was a great media server but the PS4 doesn't let you play files from a USB device or stream files from a
PC. The X1 can stream, the 'play to' streaming method with Windows 8 PC's works great. Both consoles have apps the other doesn't at the moment and in time there will be plenty more coming to both. The PS4 doesn't really do anything more or anything better
than the X1 (apart from the current 720p v 1080p issues on certain multi-plat games). The games lineup is much better on the X1 at the moment and through this year, of course long term that comes down to whether you want to play Halo, GoW, Titanfall or you
want to play Uncharted, Infamous and Killzone. The Kinect is pretty cool, I can't say I use it much but auto-signing in and quick switching through games and apps actually is pretty useful if you don't mind looking like a tool who speaks to his Xbox.

If you've always been an Xbox guy and your friends have been too, I just don't see what Sony would be offering you to make you want to jump ship. If it's the poor service from Microsoft driving you away, I hear you, I've had some major issues with them over
the last month. But in your situation apart from pressing them and the retailer who sold you the console, there really isn't a whole lot you can do.

 

Price drops and bundles are normally decided last minute. If this happened with a washing machine would you be AS mad? Things like this happen with all products, not just Xbox's.

if I bought a wahing macine that didn't work properly and didn't do the things that were advertised, then 3months later announced a price drop and washing powder to keep you going for a few months. YES I WOULD BE AS MAD just because its a games console
its no different to other electrical devices that our hard earned money pays for.

To be honest my washing machine works better than the rubbish I purchased on midnight 22nd November 2013

How exactly is your Xbox One not working properly and what specific things is it not doing that it was advertised to do?

Also, with this price drop. The Xbox has only been reduced by £30. It's not a major price drop. The bundled games are being thrown in to add incentive for potential consumers to buy it. You can't get the console for any less without a game, it's £399 with
or without Titanfall/FIFA. You have to look at it that way, not by comparing the price of a previous bundle. The bundles are just offers which can be put out or taken away at any time by the manufacturer or retailer and we as consumers have to accept that.
It happens with anything you buy.

You can buy flights which fluctuate hundreds of pounds within weeks. You're not entitled to anything if you make the purchase at the wrong time. Also like I said in my post above, any changes in price cause this to happen, if you bought it recently you just
got unlucky... this time. It happens.

 

The battle between XB1 and PS4 has been decided by Microsoft and their poor judgement.

Faulty consoles brought to the Microsoft's attention were rewarded with a free game. Those who just returned it to the place of purchase, but were equally inconvenienced receive nothing.

Day One console for an extortionate price. Very little use out of my console with the limited number of games (most of which are plagued with issues) and a poor number of apps. Where is the benefit to those who supported your launch?

Now I learn that there will be a bundle including Titanfall for less than that of the console at launch.

If this is not balanced out, I WILL be trading in my console in place of a PS4 and I am sure many others will.

 

wheres the tv services that were advertised?

wheres the free games for gold members on xbox one?

wheres the stunning graphics that we were promised?

why does my console keep locking up?

why do I have to keep cold restarting my xbox?

why do my apps keep crashing?

why have I had my control pad replaced once?

why have I had my headset replaced twice?

why is it that every time I have contacted Microsoft through phone, they service has been poor and no answers to my problems?

The operating system is terrible if I click on friends,messages, upload etc. these can take up to 2mins to load.

The console was clearly not ready for release and some games were unplayable like NFS Rivals servers down at launch for over a week and EA kept replying to me say "We are trying hard to resolve these issues" Battlefield 4 I still cannot save my career mode
which I've spent much of my time talking to EA again and Microsoft support. How about Fifa 14 still keeps crashing after every match, Deadrising 3 kept crashing back to dashboard. I cannot use my Xbox for about a minute after Call Of Duty Ghosts.

I have had nothing but misery with the xbox one after eagerly waiting all last year for its arrival.

So I'm sorry if I'm like many others that feel like we have been let down and ripped off by Microsoft.

I am so glad that I did buy a ps4 as they have give plus members 8 free games since release

when companies like Nintendo released consoles ie. the best console of all time the Super Nintendo (my opinion) they couldn't rely on updates, the system and games had to be perfect.

The only reasons why I still have my Xbox one is because I'm a huge Xbox fan, I'm hoping it will get better and people are struggling to sell them on second hand.

We have been guinea pigs, maybe the real problem here isn't the price drop but more like MICROSOFT HAVE GIVE US NOTHING in return for our continued support and patience LIKE SONY.

wasn't the free game Microsoft gave to faulty consoles owners Killer Instinct, which was already free.

 

People seem to miss the point.

I know consoles get cheaper.

However not within 12 weeks of launch usually.

I was researching the likelihood of a price drop at the beginning of Feb, many articles from that time clearly show senior xbox exec Aaron Greenberg saying that a price drop to £399 was just RUMOUR and WAS NOT happening.

That prompted my decision to purchase.

Within the month boom.

Price drop and the only decent game free.

That is why I'm [Mod Removed].

Also one guide does not work.

Kinect is still crap.

A reply from xbox soon would be nice.

Microsoft have misled me into purchasing after debasing price drop rumours.

 

Does anyone know you actually make a consumer complaint to Microsoft. I spoke to an online guy and he said post here but that seems like rubbish! I vote we get as many of the disgruntled xbox owners and approach IGN etc for our views to be heard.

We're not moaning about consoles getting cheaper with age were [Mod Removed] because we were told it wouldn't happen and it did.

We're [Mod Removed] because you can't get a reply from xbox. We're [Mod Removed] because it's been out less than 4 months and the deal is way better now than a short time ago.

 

I r ember back in 2002 the X box had a price drop and that was 4 is months in and to say sorry they wrote to me telling me to say sorry I has a free game and pad and there are mixed reviews on what Microsoft are planing to do

 

And if you work out the price drop of the system and the game comes to about £80 I just hope that they sort some thing out

 

To say ps4 is not having issues is rubbish as well.... It has the blue line of death, it's losing people's game saves , it's locking up and has wide spread issues as well, and they offered NO FREE GAME.

It's called a console launch, these things happen and it's the price you pay as an early adopter.... Early adopters for others forms of electronics and automobiles go through this as well
