  1. XBone Manufacturing Defect

I'm just going to take a moment to vent. After having 1 original Xbox fail and 3 Xbox 360s red ring, I was determined to stay clear of the Xbox One. Like a chump, I bought one anyway despite being very happy with my launch PS4. I now have an eight month
old console that makes a constant whirring noise and the controller creaks non-stop. I blame myself for giving in, but am truly disappointed in Microsoft's QA process. I am starting to believe that they are incapable of producing reliable hardware.

    :)

Hallo friend, You must submit your application , the fact that your console is defective and you bring another messenger , instead of your!

And if in case , you will need to disable the console , disconnect the power for a few minutes , then plug in and enjoy !

p.s. After the upgrade, it is necessary to restart the console !

    A Good Luck friend!

I've been in a few threads over the past few days that have reported that their console is noisy. For the most part, and I'm going to stick my neck out here, I feel they are being over sensitive to the fan noise. Because for me, in their video's, it sounds
normal. There have been a few though where the noise has been above normal and I've given people the link to start a service request which I will do for you too (see bottom of post)

As for the controller. It's subject to ware and tear as is anything you use on a daily basis. My controller seems fine, still going and still feels solid. I'm not too sure what else to say except maybe it's time to get a new one?

    Anyway the link as promised.

  7. There isn't anything normal about it!! Also I don't have the best hearing in the world (I'm a drummer lol) Mine I got at the end of August and it was dead quiet, quieter than my 360.

Now after the October update it just got loud like the recording up above. Now it won't stop and it's louder than my 360.

It's a very annoying noise as you can hear it no matter what you do and the pich of it irritates me after abit and I have to stop playing etc.

When will Microsoft acknowledge there is something wrong with the Xbox one or the October patch.

Also seems tobe just xboxes without the kinect!

To be honest I think you are sticking your neck out a bit too much saying that, fair play to you for trying to help people but you have to apprciate that it's not just "hearing" the noise that's the problem, the noise implies faulty hardware which will ultimately
fail one day, usually unluckily a few days after the warranty runs out or just after the time you can take it back to the retailer and then be forced into a situation where you then have to send it to MS for repair (which appears to be an awful service based
on what I've read on these forums).

Yeah I hear you. It's not right having to put up with the annoying sound of a fan whirring constantly but that's not to say it's going to fail. I have a couple of noisy fans in my PC, one of which is nearly 5 years old and is still going strong. Granted,
some fans do have inherent problems with bearings/coils and will unfortunately grind to a stop one day but that's just the risk we all take with electronics.

With all that said though, and this has just come to me, high pitched squeaking noises sometimes come from HDD's. I personally can't here these noises as I have an inner ear condition called tinnitus, but if that's what some of you are hearing it could be
the HDD's making the noise and not the fan. If that's the case then it's a game changer because through experience HDD's making high pitched squeaking noises are already on their way out and you'll need to get it serviced sharpish.

  10. If it comes down to it being the HDD's then Microsoft need to do something about this. Also get our new xboxs serviced! No they should just replace them full stop! Mine is only 2 months old and others are brand new. Recall the ones with faults and send out
    new ones. Everyone's happy then!

They won't recall all faulty Xbox Ones simply because they don't know it's faulty until the end user has flagged the problem. And it's not really fair to point the finger at MS as the most likely reason the HDD's are making noises, If it is the HDD's, is
that Samsung have given out a dodgy few batches. The best anyone can hope for is for Microsoft service people's consoles and replace defective parts and that's only going to happen if the people with the problem put in a service request.

  12. I called Microsoft about this issue. I agreed to place a hold on my credit card and pay a $15 service fee for the "Advanced Replacement" of the console. However, they stated that they had no option to do Advanced Replacement for the controller, nor could
it be included in the same service number. So, I would have a new console, and would still be left sending in the controller for service. The console is not super helpful without a controller. I was super disappointed by the lack of options, but not surprised.

My xbox was working fine then one day it just starting making this loud noise no matter what i did play games, sit on the dash etc, sounds like all the recording you can here online at the mo.

Spoke to support and they said it wasn't right and if i send it off they will send me a new one. So that was cool but.....after sending it off i noticed online that it was down for repair so i messaged them again and told them what the other support worker
told me and i showed them the transcript of the chat, they wouldn't do anything so i asked to speak to a manager to cut a long story short the arranged for my xbox to be sent back then i could arrange a advanced exchange.

Well its come back today, in a new box etc. Its the same one and ive plugged it in, well it works and its dead quiet for now woo hoo!!

What they did i don't know. they must of done something as it was all reset and i had to start from scratch. There is a letter just saying sorry for any inconvenience and gave me 1month free xbox live.

This isn't a complaint im just happy to have my xbox back. I will say the only time i hear the noise is when installing a game so to me that means its a HDD fault or disk drive.

So to all of you how have the noise get it looked at or take your xbox back to the shop what ever is easier for you!

Fingers crossed you get it sorted and i hope my xbox lasts now.
