    Xbone in a hotel not connecting to servers


    So I'm in a hotel room for the next few weeks and I am connected to the internet and can play netflix just fine. I used the MAC address changing trick and that worked fine. My problem is when trying to play online such as battlefield 4, it says I can not
    join serves or access online things. Does anyone know a way around this or what to do about it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    this can be a bit trickey as most hotels have a webpage where you need to fill in your userid and password. If you have a laptop with you - you can use this trick:

    www.wikihow.com/Connect-to-Xbox-Live-Through-a-Wireless-PC

    there are also videos on youtube to show you how to do.

    If you are travelling a lot with your Xbox you should consider to get a travel router to connect your Xbox to the hotel wifi (helped me a lot when while travelling)

    ^^That doesnt sound right. What if the persons "normal" server (Hop or whatever) is 100 miles away, but the dedi they connect with is 200 miles away, in the other direction? I dunno if you can even check speedtest for the Xbone to the dedi (BF4 servers)?
    So if you test your laptops connection to your hop/normal server, itll be only 15% difference for the Xbone to game dedi? And that could be 15% better?

    Hi there - unfortunately that means the ethernet connection is not able to get past the network's firewall. Is your console assigned a public IP by the hotel's router? Are they having your run through a proxy server? Is there a login authentication required?
