XBone Controller analog stick inputs are broken

I purchased an XBone Controller for my new PC in February of this year. For the past month, I've been noticing a worsening problem with the left analog stick's neutral position. Specifically, it no longer has one. When carefully (physically) centered, the
controller still behaves as though there is input. This manifests in games as if I were constantly pressing in a direction on the stick. Even the native calibration tool for the controller in Windows 10 will show input from the left analog stick while the
controller is sitting untouched on my desk. This doesn't seem to be a terribly common problem, but a ruinous one.

The controller has up to date firmware, no obvious physical defects, and has been well taken care of. It is also unusable, which is unacceptable given that the controller is barely ten months old. I understand that the limited warranty is 90 days, and I
don't expect there to be any resolution offered other than the invitation to purchase another controller, but I wanted to raise the concern in the hopes that Microsoft might one day improve its quality guidelines to exclude using parts found on the factory
floor.

Yup! I also have a similar problem. My left analog stick is defective. It keeps looking up and down without me even touching the controller! It makes it literally IMPOSSIBLE to play any games that require the use of the left analog stick. I also have the
Day One edition controller and am not interested in losing it to a ordinary replacement. I thought Microsoft tested these controllers NON-STOP like they showed in the videos! What happened!?
