    Just figured you might want to know this Microsoft: but as of today no application or game will work on my 360 so long as it is connected to Xbox live. The result of any attempt to start a game or app on my console is a permanent black screen, and any
    attempt to return to the dashboard results in a freeze and requires hard reset of the console. Removing the internet connection so that the console cannot reach xbox live renders everything playable again.

    That's kind of an issue.

  3. Where is Xbox Live arcade on Xbox one

    On the Xbox One, all the games are grouped together under the heading "games" - there's no distinction between a retail game and an XBLA game.

    The games from the Xbox 360 are not compatible with the Xbox One - that's why you aren't seeing them on your Xbox One Apps/Games list.

    No: none of the standard trouble-shooting methods seem to fix the problem. What does however is total disconnect from xbox live (as in removing the cable), once the system is no longer trying to contact XBL, then the games and applications resume functioning.
    This indicates to me that the problem is on Microsoft's end, not mine.

    1) done, no change, done the first time, don't see what a second cleaning would do.

    2) ???, it was never downloaded to begin with ??? It's only ever been on the one machine

    3) Done, no change, same goes for multiple hard restarts

    4) So delete and re-download litterally everything on my console? no thankyou. And how would this even work for disc-based things which didn't seem to load in either?

    You know what did work though? And I'd appreciate if you'd actually read this: Disconnecting the internet connection from the xbox 360 console entirely, this rendered all non-playable games and applications functional again, save for obviously internet-reliant
    elements like multi-player. Everything was working fine yesterday, and no patch or installs were done since then. Therefore, the problem would seem to be on the server end and not in the console itself.

    Hi all,

    As we continue to look in to this issue, we have found a good amount of success with performing these steps in this specific order. Let's go ahead and all try this out and see if it is able to help.

    1).
    Power cycle the console
    (turn the console off and back on)

    2).
    Clear the system cache
    3 times in a row

    3).
    Power console off
    , remove all USB accessories, Memory cards, Kinect (if attached)

    and hard drive
    , then try launching a disc-based game that does not require hard drive

    4). If still failing,
    remove the profile ONLY
    (do not delete items associated with your profile when asked) and then

    re-download the profile


    If this does not help resolve the issue though, please provide the following info for us to pass along to the proper teams:

    1). What model console and hard drive you are using? (ex: S model with a 250GB HDD, Original model console with a 20GB HDD, etc.)

    2). When did you first notice this behavior? (ex: 7-29-2014 at 3:30PM EST)

    3). What games/apps have you recently downloaded around the same time this issue started occurring?

    - PLEASE ACTUALLY READ THIS! -

    None of those trouble-shoot solutions fix the problem. I have tried repeatedly, and they DO NOT work. The only solution that does work, is remove the internet connection from the console, this leads to the problem being eliminated entirely, all applications
    and games work again once the internet connection is removed.

    Information:

    1) hardware - Xbox 360 Elite with hard drive

    2) When this behavior started - You would know this if you had actually read any of my previous posts: this behavior literally began today, I was playing games successfully last night.

    3) what games/apps have been recently downloaded - Again, you would know this if you'd read the above information: NONE, zzero, there were no downloads between the functional and non functional period.

    What do and don't work: again, something previously stated, but NO application, installed game, or disc game, or even DVD will start while the console is connected to the internet. The moment the internet (and XBL connection with it) is removed, functionality
    returns.
