XBL services down, cannot play downloaded games

Moog and Me: I will try to explain why both points are counter to Microfails initiative.

1st one is that authentication thing well believe it or not microfaul is a company. all companies want to do is make money. on top of this they want to make money as efficiently as possible thus why when something goes horridly wrong they dont have people
on hand to fix it cause they are running skeleton crews of programmers to maintain their servers. second of all on this point if they allowed this to happen then the other things about the digital games comes into play. any one here ever go with out XBL gold
for any amount of time? according to my friend you stop paying you cant access your digital games due to "you are not connected to Xbox live would you like to subscribe?" thus they hold your games hostage till you pay for a subscription to Xbox live gold frankly
smart system they have there using a very slim loop hold in the good and services laws.

Your 2nd issue was that they wont admit to what is wrong or inform the people what is wrong. Well there are two reason for this reason one and the less likely of the two is they really dont know. Reason two they got hacked and they dont want to admit to
the world that they got hacked and would rather cover it up as maintenance cause if they admit to being hacked them any one claiming credit now has a psychological power over a lot of people. In this instance if a group of racidal people claimed they where
the cause and I dont need to name which group of radical people that would be a lot of people may panic.

All that being said frankly I think they got hacked hard. I know that there are a few groups out there that dont like the stance Apple took and the issues started happening around the same time that Microfail took the same stance. I have noticed that certain
net based stuff from both apple and microfail has had massive issues lately and they are likely both connected...

 

You realize Bill Gates hasn't had anything to do with Microsoft for a long time now, right? Truthfully, I'd say he'd be *** if he knew what was happening here.

 

I don't know why they make XBOX LIVE product if you cant handle problems with in 3 to 4 hours... A Tech Team shoudnt take that long to at least get the core services back up... Why own a product if you dont know how to fix it.. Doesnt look like they know
how to fix this problem or it would already be fixed...

1. They 2 sets of service to put us on the other one if one has an issue...

2. They need a Tech Team that knows how to fix the major problems in a quick time frame..

3. They need to be more Customer Friendly and reply to more post addressing us saying where sorry or give us information other then CORE SERVICE ISSUE... Talk with your customers in forum post that get really long and let us know.. Your trying to get the
problem fixed asap.

 

You don't need XBL Gold to play downloaded games. You need XBL gold to play games that have matchmaking multiplayer (With the exception of servers completely hosted by 3rd parties, like Smite). I have gone many months of no XBL gold, and my digital games
all worked exactly as expected. Everything would work until I tried to take part in anything that required the xbox matchmaking services. Regardless, when your xbox connects to the DRM server to verify your license for the game in question, it should instantly
download a self-destructing copy of that license to the box. The license should expire no sooner than 7 days, but as I said earlier, 15 days is a nice rounded number. If you are online at a later time and the game in question is launched, the DRM server
can be contacted once more and a new copy of that license can be downloaded, thereby refreshing the window. Should you be online at all times, you would see no difference with this system versus what normally happens under ideal situations with the current
situation. Where you would then see a major difference is this: When you are offline and when Microsoft's servers are having problems. If you're offline, you still would need to have the account logged into the xbox locally to play the game anyway. This
wouldn't change. You would be able to play single-player or local multiplayer content that doesn't require an internet connection. When Xbox Live servers are having problems, though, if you can still connect to XBL but not contact the DRM server, this would
allow you to still play the game during that 15 day window which should be more than enough time to fix the problem. As I said earlier. If this system were in play right now, we would all be able to access our content that has a current license on the box
in use. It's my understanding that Microsoft had originally intended this type of a system with a 30 day window for the initial release of the xbox one. They then changed their plans and implemented the current system due to people complaining about all
the DRM licensing requiring a constant internet connection. The best part of all of this is that during the xbox one's first 6 months, all games required an internet connection to play simply because there was literally 0 offline content for the entire library....

you know i wish they would have did there original design now for there xbox not having disc because that feature alone would have killed the xbox when things happen like this...

yea this time im done with downloaded games, Id rather give my money to Gamestop than deal with games I outright cant play once a week.

 

Meh I still like DLG's just going to get them from steam and play on the PC. this is much preferred over microfail system on the Xbox one.

 

We are actually aware of the issue. We will be doing trouble shooting steps for this one however just a heads up, currently, there is an ongoing server upgrade which temporarily affects the function of being able to purchase, play games, or Sign In, that
can help acquire a better and more secure Xbox Live servers in the long run [this is what they told me

 

a 12 hour update...my xbox better dispense bj's and have better be able to run the starship enterprise for a 12 hour update.

 

I'm getting really sick of this *** ***. Microsoft why in hell is it so hard to get your pile of crap service to actually work longer than one week. Every single week there is some kind of issue with your service and almost every single time its with content
usage more so with the use of downloaded games. I'm on my HOME console so and I don't share games with someone else because i'm not one of those losers that lets his friend use my account and I use his. I should have no trouble accessing the license to play
MY games because I am on MY HOME CONSOLE. For those of you that don't know that is the reason you can't play downloaded games but can play disc copies because of the license nonsense. If this is going to happen this often than you know what either you get
rid of the license check in nonsense or you just restrict the sharing of games. It should be the only way you can share these games is if you're connected to the same network anyways. I just downloaded Far Cry Primal and can't even play the *** game that I
paid for. Your garbage service has been down the whole day way more than 12 hours. This is insane!!! The only reason I play my X-box over my PS4 is because your online service was top of the line. Nowadays it seems like you are either at par with Sony's garbage
PSO or you are worse. Get your *** together and stop letting your service go down like this. Also the forum response warriors can suck my *** because I can already see the "hey bro its okay it'll be back up soon go play something else" or "hey man you don't
know how hard it is for these people are you a programmer". NO i'm not a programmer and NO I don't want to play something else. I have a *** job and family and my game time is pretty *** limited and it seems like every time I wanna play something this ***
happens. FIX IT NOW!!!!!

Its getting beyond a joke now, there is always something not working properly with the Live service. Do MS actually know what they are doing? They obviously know we the gamers are not happy but expect us to just sit back and accept it. Its about time we
were compensated in some way or another. There was never this many problems with the 360 and I remember when the Live service went down once we were compensated with a free (admittedly very poor) game.MS better do something fast or they are going to start
losing customers!
